When to change your valve cover gasket?
Valve cover gasket is one of the most vital gaskets with the task of keeping oil from leaving your motor. They work as a seal between the valve cover, and the cylinder head. Even though the valve cover gasket has protection from the bottom and top, it is still a very delicate and fragile component- that is prone to damage. Over time, the gasket can become cracked and brittle because of exposure to heat, dirt, debris and other elements.

I installed these valve cover gaskets on my 5.3 2007 suburban. Getting to the valve covers wasn't too hard (used You Tube). The tricky part that slowed me way down was getting the gaskets to stay in the cover as I placed them back on the engine. I found that some high temp grease or petroleum jelly applied to the underside of the gasket helped it to stick to the valve cover and not fall out during install. It's worked great with no leaks since reinstalling. The other tip I wished I knew beforehand was that these gaskets fit, but are a little tight (small). I found that taking a few seconds to stretch them out helped them to fit much easier so one end didn't pop out of the groove when pushing the opposite side in. For the second gasket, I just left it stretched over a cardboard box as I removed the valve cover and it didn't give me any trouble.

They worked on my 05 Chevy Suburban 5.3 Litter engine. Looked to big when matching them up but put them in the freezer the night before the installation day and they will work fine

The gaskets are just barely to small and very rubber band like, they do not stay in the groove on the valve covers. Installed and it pulled out and got pinched, causing it to leak oil all over the exhaust and spark plugs. Bought a different brand and installed, that fit perfectly. Very disappointed in this product.
