Leaks from valve covers may be problematic. These not only cause unsightly stains but may lead to serious problems if not repaired.
What is a Valve Cover Gasket?
Valve cover gasket is designed to seal the valve cover to the surface of the engine cylinder head, the valve cover gasket prevents motor oil from leaking out of the joint part.
Pay attention when replace gasket:
* Pls use genuine gasket,wipe the two joint surfaces of engine and clean valve cover with a soft brush.
*Clean the valve cover with cleaning agent, clean the contact surface between the valve cover and cylinder head, install the valve cover gasket, apply gasket maker, and screw the screws diagonally from the middle to both sides.
*Don't scar the valve cover surface when carving debris.Tighten the fixing bolts of valve cover evenly,not too tight,which might hurt your cover.

Not sure why you would sell the kit without the VVT seal also. It worked fine, make sure to purchase the other seal before you start.

Part of a bunch of stuff I was doing including plugs and coils was to swap out the leaking gasket on the valve cover. It wasn't leaking outside the engine, it was leaking into two of the spark plug recesses, one was totally filled with oil!This one went on correctly and hasn't leaked. Took a 3600 mile road trip after it was installed with no drama so I think we're good for another 140k miles (how long it took the original to fail).

I've installed more then a few valve cover gaskets. When I installed this one it was loose in the valve cover. In my experience it should be snug. Upon putting it back on the head part of it came out of the groove and I didn't see till after I started tightening it down. As result it got pinched and It was ruined. I should have paid closer attention. I went down to my parts store and got a felpro. What I should have done to start with. Worked like a charm and stayed in the groove like it's supposed to.
