Product Description

Everyone from students to music teachers love the Juno reeds. They're designed to help find early success by making it easier to play the instrument from the lowest to the highest note. Juno reeds are perfect for beginners: when you sound better, playing is more fun. And when you're having fun, you keep playing. Juno reeds are specially made with student players in mind from select cane grown on the Mediterranean basin. The reeds are given a special cut that's extra responsive for students, so they can improve faster. Once the reeds are precisely cut, each one is sealed in its own humidity balanced flow pack, so when a Juno reed is taken out of the box, It feels and sounds as fresh as the day it was made. It's easy to find a Juno reed that feels good to play - and helps you sound good too. If you're just starting out, you may find a reed with a strength of 1. 5 The easiest to play. All reeds are available in packs of 3, 10 or 50.

Good quality great price! Do not get the cheaper knock off brands they do not hold up and don't sound as good. These are great!

My daughter prefers these over the regular Vandoren reeds. They are easier to use and the clarinet tone is much clearer for her when she uses these.

My daughter likes these best for her band clarinet. She plays multiple instruments and looks for quality for the price.

These reeds are fantastic for beginning students. They are a consistent product, good quality and a great reed to have parents purchase for their kids. I wish they made Juno reeds for baritone saxophone though!

These reeds are advertised as student reeds. Turns out these are individually sealed Vandoren reeds from quality cane with a regular "jazz" cut as opposed to the French file cut seen on the Vandoren Blue Box reeds. In the US these reeds are only sold through local dealers. These reeds were designed as easy playing reeds for students. They are somewhat softer than the corresponding traditional blue box reed of the same number. That said, I having been playing the clarinet for many years and use these reeds for playing jazz. My setup is a Juno #2 reed on a R13 clarinet with a Vandoren 5JB mouthpiece and a Rovner Versa ligature. This combination requires many hours of practice to build up the chops to play say Charlie Parker and especially Coltrane on a daily basis. You might want to start with a less open mouthpiece like a B45 (with a #2 1/2 Juno reed) if you find difficulty with this combination. My goal is to eventually move up to a Vandoren V12 #2 1/2 reed (from thicker cane) on the Vandoren 5JB mouthpiece. In the meantime, I continue to use this "student" reed for playing jazz on the clarinet.
