Good value. Nice struts, actually have metal ends. They are stronger than advertised. I would recommend going a little lighter than you expect to need.

It took a while, but finally got one of these struts to work for my home-made utility box with a heavy lid. I bought a set of 45lb rated struts for my 47lb lid. After mounting them on both sides of the box, I realized that EACH strut is rated at 45lb, not combined. Did not see that in the description or instructions. I probably should have bought a set of 25lb struts (=50lbs of force).For my application, one will do the job, however the brackets flex due to the force placed on one strut only.Following the instructions for mounting was easy, but required some experimenting for final positioning of the brackets.Pros:Great price!Appear to be well built struts.Instructions for position calculating were easy to follow.Cons:Need to experiment for final bracket position.Brackets flex when working with heavy weights.

I purchased these to hold up the plywood storage area underneath the queen size bed in my trailer. They work OK if I did it again I would purchase stronger ones, but it works OK..

Product matched everything the add described as. Holds well for now. Hope they last the test of time, at least 5 years would be great in my opinion. We’ll see.

This NOT for marine. It comes with steel brackets, not stainless. By all accounts, utterly unless around a marine environment. Had to return and will be purchasing something better. Whats the point of a stainless strut if you have steel hardware... so disappointing...

I was looking for very strong struts for my project to lift quite a heavy door and I have tried 3 different pairs before this one. Only criticism I’d place with mounting brackets, although they are looking substantial, they started to bend when under force, I had to put some extra supports.

I don't think these hold as much weight as they claim. I have a fairly heavy lid for them to open, they make the lid much easier to open but cannot hold its weight. I had to install a rudimentary brace to hold the lid while its fully open

Easy installation and seem great. The lift weight is per pair.
