My vair compressor was blowing the fuse too often. Read online that it could be a check valve. This worked perfect. Though I'm not sure how long these would last as the one that went bad was also a viar check valve.

So I was having an issue with fuses blowing. It got to the point where my fuse would blow instantly after replacing. Did a little research and found out it’s because this check valve went bad. Replaced it with this one and it’s now been over a month and no more blown fuses. If you are blowing your fuse, remove your check valve and see if you can blow through it. One direction you should be able to, but the other you should not. If you can, then it’s bad and should be replaced. I’m pretty sure this valve is exactly what came with my compressors from the factory.

This valve looks good on the surface.. and if you blow thru both ends "before" installing, it operates seemingly ok.. BUT when you tighten up the valve to insure no air leaking around threads (even using pipe thread tape) "SOMETHING" goes wrong, and it does not seal (prevent back flow of air into compressor ), which causes very hard or no start which can damage your compressor motor.. THE SOMETHING in IMHO may be that when you tighten the valve up it deforms the orifice inside and prevents the valve from seating properly... thus you have long tedious installation with bad result and could damage your compressor motor if you are not standing right there to turn it off. AMazon send me a duplicate replacement.. same problem.. I finally went to Grainger and bought a differnt brand.. works great.. VIAIR needs to address the problem.

This is the second one of these I've had. The first one came with my compressor and lasted about a year with no issue until one day it decide to stop working completely.This one did not work properly from day one. It leaked just enough to drain my tank over a period of about 5 - 7 hours which made me think there is no way it could be the check valve, and especially not a brand new check valve, so I spent a lot of time searching for the leak. Finally the only place left that the leak could have been coming from was the check valve. I switched it out for a SMC check valve and every thing is back in order and working properly.Unfortunately I threw this one away in a fit of frustration, so I can not send it back for a refund.

works well but sometimes it leaks. Every now and then this thing leaks and its a pain when my tank drains. I would either buy 2 and put them together or buy a more expensive one. I am using it with a oiled compressor, maybe the oil makes it stick. Might work just fine with an oil-less noise maker.
