I bought this to weld onto my Oklahoma joe smoker. I wanted to add 2 more spots for temp gauges. These bungs are perfect, well priced and good quality!

The bungs I ordered and received were labeled as 1/2 NPT and 1-1/4 outer diameter. The 1-1/4 part was spot on, but the threads were clearly larger than 1/2 - they are probably 3/4 NPT.Mislabled so I'm returning.Bummer since it seems like a solid product for my application.

Using a welding professional with over 40 years experience, we welded nearly 10 of these (1/2 and 3/4 npt ) fittings onto 2 chambers intending to fill with air (in one) and hydraulic fluid (in the other). After first weld we pressure tested and found many leaks at 40 psi. We ground them down and welded again. Fewer leaks but still leaking none the less. 3rd grinding, welding and pressure testing finally proved they were sealed. The welders fees would have been astronomical except that he felt sorry for the poor quality of product saying, "Normally Amazon is good!"Will never purchase again.
