I used this capture card among other devices to help me digitize old family tapes. It's a very simple and easy-to-use device, and I liked very much how it's plug-and-play. I highly recommend it for the price!

I don't usually write reviews but this one has to be written.First, I can not comment on 60fps that others are complain about but I would advise you to get a HDMI splitter to play it a actual monitor and to bypass any HDCP negotiations, also no its not 3.0 and you DON'T need USB 3.0 for 1080p HDMI capture when the card is handling the encoding and the bandwidth is going to be within USB 2.0 speeds if you know anything about video codecs. (3rd screenshot)I was impressed how easy the capture card was to use, Just plug it in to USB and your done its now a video source! I used to have a Elgato HD60 before i snapped it in half on stream because it have given me (and anyone you ask with any Elgato capture card) nothing but issues.I primarily use it to stream movies and such over Discord from my Blu-ray Player and this does it with flying colors. Clear video and audio, No drop out, No resyncing when switching resolutions and modes. I have had a lot of issues with capture cards and my PS3 but this one handles it without any issues.

I bought this to stream my xbox series x to my oculus meta quest 2. It was easy to setup and worked with the hmdi link app. Everything looked perfect until the game started and this device just can't handle the load. At the max, I was getting 3 fps. I can see the device being used for screen shots, but it just can't deal with the stress

I had to scroll through the reviews to figure out how to use this as the instructions are unclear.Simply google search, download, and install the free "OBS Studio".Once installed (and your HDMI capture device is connected to whatever device you are recording from), click the plus sign in the Sources panel at the bottom of the screen - choose video capture device, and once you have confirmation you're connected, click Start Recording. It's that simple.I transferred an old VHS tape to digital using this method. I also bought a "Mini AV2HDMI Up scaler" for under $20 to complete the connection for the AV cables. So worth it.

Input: It does take a 4K input signal from some of my devices. Some of my 4K-capable devices wouldn't send it . When using a 4K input you get some banding as an artifacts of scaling down to 1080p again. You'll get a better signal by sending it 1080p in the first place.Output: One way to tell if a device is really using USB 3.0 is how much uncompressed (YUV2) video it can send. USB 3.0 can carry 4.8Gbps and a 1080p uncompressed signal at 60fps and 4:2:2 chroma sampling is less than 3Gbps, so theoretically this device should be able to send the full signal in YUV2 format, but it won't. In fact it's limited to 5fps in 1080p or 10fps in 720p. MJPEG format will allow you 1080p 60fps, but has compression artifacts and discoloration. Finally: After less than an hour of testing it started getting very hot and making a high pitched whining noise. One of my computers told me that the device was drawing more power than the port could provide. Now none of my computers will talk to it, so back it goes.

My brother wanted this to easily stream his gaming to his laptop and it works great! Quality isn't bad and there's not much lag for price

TLDR: Buy it if you are streaming and not using it to play on your PC like I am, I have no interest in streaming, I just wanted to play on my PC where I can do work, minimize it and go back to playing it after some work...As stated in other posts, it doesn't do 1080p 60fps, it does 1080p 30fps, However, does do 720p 60fps if that's what your after and don't mind blurry images from the newer games being scaled down that low.So i've had this for exactly a day now, so take this with a grain of salt as I played with the settings a lot to get this to be workable FOR ME, as soon as it arrived at my doorstep I put it to work.I chose to use OBS as they have on the manual, first note: DOESN'T WORK WITH 3RD PARTY DOCKS. I have my regular dock and a tiny 40$ dock I found at gamestop. When plugged into the regular Nintendo switch dock. It works, however, the color contrast on it is so awful I had to play around with the saturation, contrast, and brightness in the obs software to get it to a decent level of being colorful just not "oh my god i'm blind" levels of brightness and contrast.Tested playing a few games, first was monster hunter.don't do it for a game like this, the latency was god awful, press and hold A (to mount your dog) that took like 3-4 seconds or what felt like a decade. When to go fight a low level monster to see how it handles registering attacks, same result, press the attack button and wait a few seconds then it'll do it.Then I played a game like Final Fantasy X.Games like this are more doable since its turn based combat at you don't have to worry. Thats it for this section really...Lastly I'd like to mention the audio reproduction on this from OBS. its awful, it works but the latency makes the sounds just awful. the music I love in Final Fantasy sounded stretched. In the end, if you are just trying to stream, I would say this should be good after messing around with the settings to make it look pretty. Otherwise, if you are like me and just want to play it on your PC while you do work. Don't buy this :/ was a serious disappointment.

Bought this to record videos on my Nintendo switch for YouTube, and the product works great. It is able to record 1080p at 60fps as advertised and was very affordable.
