Aside from the “party” aspect, these are great for marking the locations of telescopes in the dark. :-)

They last for 8 hours - legit. Super value and great for the kids or emergencies.

Bought these for jug fishing. While they work, they just weren’t strong enough to see the distance I wanted. They also aren’t very cost effective if you jug fish often. I use small rechargeable USB flashlights instead of glo sticks now and I can see my jugs from at least 200-300 yards at night, very easily. I can’t recommend these glo sticks for my use case, but I can’t give them a 1 star considering I’m not truly using them for their intended purpose, which I’m sure they work just fine for kids. I did compare them to sticks I already had from the dollar store and the dollar store sticks were bigger and brighter, but also more expensive per stick.

The couple glow sticks I have cracked to check out have lasted nearly 24 hours, which I was pretty impressed with. The only downside I'm having with these is that they take a surprising amount of effort to crack. My wife and kid couldn't do them, so I've had to crack all three that we've used so far.
