I originally started buying the military challenge coins to give out to our vet friends and other vets we meet at the market and so forth. Now, after seeing how many different versions and topics they cover, I collect them. These have great feel in the hand and the stamping is crisp and sharp looking.

I love these coins. They come in individual pills to keep them in great shape. You can open the pills and take them out if you prefer.

I love Norse/Viking coins and iconography. I own several versions of the Helm Of Awe and Wayfinder (compass) coins/medallions from other brands and thought this set would be nice as I didn't have a Tree of Life, Thor's Hammer or Warrior's Knot yet.Coins have a nice heft and size at 1 oz, 40mm diameter and 3 mm thickness. Coins are coated in a light varnish to give them a shiny look rather than a matte naked brass. *Designs are nice with good detail and sharp lines. *(see below) Grooved coin edges are a nice touch. All coins come inside plastic cases that will protect from scratches and dents if dropped, although it will shatter that case if dropped.Unfortunately 3 of the five coins have some flaws. While the Compass and Helm coins are pretty much flawless, the other three that I bought this set for all have defects. One side of the three seem fine but opposite sides have either slight divots or coating defects. While not huge problems, once I saw them I can't un see them now. So 1 star off for each coin.

The design is very shallow and doesn't look anything like what was shown. It's ok, but not great.
