I love the patterns in this pattern book. Might be a little difficult for beginners. I would recommend this book.

I just received this book in the mail today so have not used it yet. I spent a while browsing through it and found so many things that my mother and grandmother used to make. If you are looking for lovely old crochet patterns this book is a good place to start

Liked: LOVED the format. Bigger print and easy on the eyes. Good space for notes IF you are the type of person who does mark in a pattern book. Nicely bound and photos are good.Disliked: I was looking for more lacy doily patterns. Instead of so many pages on which to write notes more patterns could have been included.

Actually contains patterns from the 1930s-50s. It is a trip into nostalgia, yet most of the projects will not be outdated for today. The patterns are not updated, and the materials given are mostly not available now, so you'll have to gauge what thread or yarn will work for the hook size given. I love this book and am so glad it is available.

Instead of seeing all the pictures that were supposed to be there, I saw big squares with an "X" through them. Quite frustrating as I'm more of a visual crocheter. Good basic patterns, a bit tricky on calculating yarn type and quantity but if you've been "hooking" for a while, you can figure most of it out pretty well - BY LOOKING AT THE PICTURES of which there aren't enough in the kindle ed. Sorry.

You are getting what you order. I had a hard time looking at it on the kindle. This was my first purchase of a craft book that way. I think I like the paper copies better.

Bought on a whim. Excited by all the vintage patterns. Looking forward to making and adapting them for modern needs.

I thought this was an English crochet book but having read it I find it is American so you need to get a conversion chart to use I have only learnt English crochet. So can you please state on front of these patterns wether it is American or British AS this would be useful when downloading patterns having said that some of the patterns would be nice to do

Didn't like this at all. It was too hard to get to grips with the format. Given up the idea. It's a personal thing and you may not agree.
