Bought it to hold a keyboard and mouse touchpad combo. Really solid while typing. No bouncing at all, even when the arm is fully extended. I'm going to buy another one to hold my 17" laptop since I'm now certain it would do the job without even breaking a sweat. Super easy to put together and install on a table via the clamp. Two extremely beefy turn screws to anchor to the table. Clamp has a rubber pad so it won't scratch your table. Clamp bolts together from two parts using 2 hex-head screws (hex wrench included) and there are 3 sets of screws so you can adapt the clamp to fit from a normal desk thickness all the way to a ridiculous 4" thick. Mounting bracket and pole looks like it could survive a nuclear war. Be careful to tighten the arm clamp to the pole sufficiently or it might slowly walk down the pole each time you rotate the arm. You can verify this by seeing that the arm clamp does not rotate on the pole along with the arm. Subtle if you don't notice it at first, but very important in my case since the arm passes over some other electronics when I rotate it. The tray that comes with it is way too big for my keyboard, but it does work and is very solid. As I said earlier, the tray would hold a very large laptop with no problems at all. The good thing here is that the tray attaches with 4 bolts to a simple mounting plate, so any tray with the properly spaced holes would fit. I'm going to build a custom tray for my keyboard today. Should be awesome when it's done. Last thing is that the arm and joints that support the tray are quite thick, so they hang down about 2.5" under the tray. Thus, if you want to have your keyboard/laptop/whatever float just above your table (or as in my case, just above some other electronics), the best you can do is about 3" above. However, I'll take that in exchange for the insane stability and strength of this thing. I wish they sold additional arms for mounting other stuff to the same pole since there is no doubt it can handle it. The table lip would break off before the mount failed. In my case, the arm joints were too tight to easily move the keyboard around, so I popped off the caps as suggested by another reviewer and loosened them just a bit. Now the keyboard glides around with a minimal effort but still stays in place while in use.UPDATE: I now own 3 of these and they are awesome. Since you can't (apparently) purchase just another arm, I bought one just for the arm, so I now have 2 arms mounted happily on one pole. The third holds my laptop on another desk.

This stand is very heavy duty and well constructed. It will easily hold any laptop out there today. Good solid components, all mounting hardware is supplied as well as the tools needed to assemble it and the finish is very nice. You can adjust to any angle desired. If I need another stand I will order this one again…it is well worth the money.

I bought this with the intent of storing one of my two laptops on it. I work in a hybrid role so I have a work laptop and a personal laptop, as many of us probably do. Since I am re-establishing my home office/gaming desk area, I wanted something functional. I don't want two laptops sitting on my desk, which is where this laptop mount came into play. This thing is sturdy. I think I could probably put an elephant on it. I don't have much experience with mounts and arms but this thing is quite strong. The mounting mechanism is great. You have two options, a clamp around the edge of the desk, or drill a hole and mount it with a ring to the surface of the desk. I preferred the surface mount but the cable management holes on my desk are too big and I did not want to drill a hole in my desk so I went with the edge mount. It was at this point that the flaws of the system started becoming apparent.First, the arm only lets you move so far. If I had to put a range on it, I would say about 270 degrees, due to how the arm attaches to the pole. The arm does have a few pivot points on it, one at the pole mount, one at the midpoint, and one under the laptop stand. The middle pivot points do not give a lot of options in terms of degrees of movement, from 35 degrees to about 150 degrees. While this is quite a bit of range, the positioning of the clamp on the desk and the arm using the desk mount are very important and will take some time to figure out positioning, if not done properly, will limit the range of the system. The arm itself, when fully extended is 14" long and from desk mount to end of laptop stand (with stand laying flat) is 23". The system does come with cable management clips that attach (loosely) to the arm and can pop off quite easily. I wish they would have gone with holes in the arm to run the cables inside the arm. The pivot points on the arm are quite tight out of the box, so I loosen the screws at the pivot points to make it move a little easier. The laptop stand/mechanism is where I have the most issue with this system. The biggest issue for me is that the laptop stand does not have anything to keep the laptop in place. When opening the laptop, you must hold the laptop down while opening the device. I could get a velcro strap or something but I wish there were clamps or a lip that the base of the laptop slid into to hold it in place. The pivot point is also a bit of a problem. I realize that this arm could also be used as a monitor mount and I may switch the monitor and the laptop but I haven't made my mind up yet on this. Due to the arm's flexibility with being either a laptop or monitor mount, the laptop stand pivots left to right and rotates clockwise or counterclockwise. This means that you could have your laptop stand laying parallel to the arm and then rotate it. It's annoying to always have to grip the sides and rotate the stand so that it's laying flat. When I am done with work, I like to move the laptop out of the way to clear up desk space. When storing the laptop, I rotate it off of the desk, stand the laptop stand up, perpendicular to the arm as much as I am comfortable, and try to lay it flat against the wall, or at least close and perpendicular. A few times I have knocked the laptop off while doing this. I would say the stand is perfect for a 13" laptop. My work laptop is a 15" and extends beyond the stand a bit but it still is stable. I also use an external keyboard and mouse as I found sitting in my chair and typing on the laptop left a lot to be desired (wobbles, rotates easily, bounces) If I had a standing/adjustable desk, it may be better but I don't. One last thing, for my use (close to the surface of the desk due to no monitor mount, and no standing capability), the mounting pole is WAY too tall. It just kind of sticks out. I have a 24" monitor on its provided stand and the pole is as tall as the monitor. I guess I could look at getting an additional arm and mounting my monitor to that off of the same pole.OVERALL:It's a decent laptop mount but if hindsight were 20/20, I would have gone a different way with this for my use.PROS:Strong (Clamp and arm)Comes with cable management clipsFlexible mounting optionsDecent standCan use as a laptop or monitor mountCONS:Positioning takes a bit of time to figure outMounting pole too longNo cable management through the arm or poleNot easily height adjustable (uses a hex bolt to clamp arm to pole)Limited range of motion once mounted to desk and poleThe laptop stand rotates too easily (think of monitor from portrait to landscape)No cable management through the desk clamp so you will want to place it close to cable management holes on the desk or run cables off the side of the desk down the mounting clamp.

I was pleasantly surprised with this stand. It mounted easily on my piano keyboard and provides a great way to record music with my notebook computer. I rarely write reviews, but this product deserves a good review for its solid construction and quality design.

Very useful, feels sturdy and easy to install !The only complaint really is as shown in my second image, as the bottom part of the chassis of my laptop is made of aluminum and that contact with that part that hold the laptop from sliding needs padding so it doesn't scratch overtime the painted alluminum surface.Other than that, this is not my first VIVO product, good quality !Peace !
