Ok, so I've had this thermostat and heat mat combo for about a month now, and I have to say that is is better than I expected. I live in a northern climate, and without the heat mat I was not getting the humidity in the 1020 trays and domes that I need for my plants. By adding the mat and thermostat I fixed that issue literally overnight.I tested the accuracy of the thermostat by placing the probe in a room temperature environment next to a calibrated thermometer. After an hour the thermostat reading was within 1 degree of the thermometer.The thermostat will show the temperature C or F, and it is easy to select which one you want to use. It will show the temperature at the probe in tenths of a degree (70.1, 70.2, 70.3, etc) but can only be set in whole degrees (70.0, 71.0, 72.0, etc). The thermostat will turn on the heat mat when the reading is 1.1 degrees below the temperature you set. It will turn off at the temperature you set, but I have seen the temperature increase up to 1.5 degrees above your setting. In other words. if I have the thermostat set to 73 degrees, the thermostat will turn on at 71.9, will shut off at 73, but the temperature at the probe will increase up to about 74.5 degrees.I would say that this is a reliable product and I will buy again when I need more heat mats.

I originally gave this mat one star because it genuinely did not heat up at all for over 2 hours after plugging it in, however after reading some reviews and guides I've been able to have it work as expected.1. Do NOT place this on any heat conductive surface, it will suck out any/all heat from the mat itself. Place a towel or other like-.material mat under it to assist in insulation.2. I can perfectly fit 6 Vivosun, 12 cell seed starters on the heat mat. Excellent fit for Vivosun humidity dome seed starters.Overall it's pretty decent, just needs a bit of support and proper conditions to work properly.

I purchased one of these last year, and just bought a second to expand my seed starting space. The first is still heating very well with no decline in output. Love the temperature control feature to set different temps for different seed's needs.

I grow my garden from seed every year and up until last year, I did not have these heat mats. The difference of germination with and without these mats is very significant. The consistent temperature control makes it so MOST of my seeds germinate. I will never start seeds without these again.

I love these mats! They are perfect for seed starting. However, I did not need to use them for a long period of time because the seeds grew so fast. As that happened, I moved the mat unto newly planted seeds!

Very flimsy, light weight, but mostly, it does not heat up. Do not buy this. Get an I Power, much better built and effective without any other heat source. Works like a charm , got the 20†X 48†on piece mat and draped it under and up the sides of the seedling pits. You put a clear plastic cover over the top of the pots, it cooks.
