My son owns a 2001 Tacoma 4X4. We originally installed an AEM cold air intake system to improve performance. We quickly learned that once my son replaced his front bumper with a rock crawling bar the AEM provides 0 protection to water. Especially when driving through small puddles. The Volant provides the same performance enhancement capability, but with more protection from the elements.Installation was pretty easy. The only two challenges were the installation of the mass air flow sensor and the 'L' shaped crank case ventilation hose. The mass airflow sensor that came off our truck didn't really match the pre-drilled holes. Once we confirmed how the sensor should be installed (make air needs to flow in one direction through the sensor housing), it was easy to screw into the plastic.Our truck didn't have an "L" shaped crank case ventilation hose so we had to create one on our own. A quick trip to the auto parts store allowed us to grab an "L" shaped hose connector which allowed us to install as instructed.A great addition to our truck!

This air intake doesn’t fit into a 2002 v6 Toyota Tacoma. There is no way the air box would fit into the engine compartment. The fiit and finish of the product was horrible. Looked and felt cheap. Volant should not market this item for a 2002 tacoma. Further more parts were missing my time was waisted trying to install.

very nice fitment. my air intake temperature is 9 degrees hotter than outside air temp. with not running any pipe insulation that is crazy good.. thanks for the great product

It fit with some modifications . "I had to scavenge a piece from a honda accord " There is a gap and bend where it should line up with intake manifold but comes short .Other wise it looks super clean im the engine bay of my 2001 tacoma 3.4 .

The reason I gave this cold air intake a one star is not because of the seller, the fit and finish is poor, you would expect better quantity for the money. The mounting points do not line up, the mass air flow sensor location interferes with the filter box, and the air tube is really too long. I reached out to Volant customer service and never got a reply, so I guess Volant really don’t care about customer satisfaction!!!
