Product is well made. Good instructions. Great packaging. Fit like a charm in my 2000-2006 Tundra. Their torque rating seem low, but I didn’t even feel comfortable torquing to their “max†spec. No leaks even at 25% less torque than their max. Use your best judgment during install, don’t gorilla this thing on. This has been a game changer for oil changes!

M12x1.25 plug fits many Toyota engines and more, a popular size for Japanese makes. Expensive, yet i think it a good investment when you consider. Oil filters usually filter down to about 20 microns. This magnet will remove ferrous particles of all sizes including under 20 micron, reduce pump scarring (oil pump draws unfiltered oil from pan, if particles are arrested before entering pump it’s a benefit even if they’re large enough to be trapped by filter.) Gives an indication of engine health/ lube quality by monitoring the plug at service time. I've used cheap anodized aluminium magnetic plugs, the magnets were ok but unless you're super careful the aluminum twists off, then good luck removing the piece stuck in the oil pan. But this is stainless steel, works GR8. Did use original type fiber crush washer tho, the metal one that comes with this plug seemed oversized and may be more likely to drip a little. Engine now at 385k miles, runs well. If engine manufacturers really cared about longevity these should be OEM equipment, right? But why hurt future sales 😜To manufacturer: I’m not dropping any stars for this, but the crush washer center hole should be smaller to keep it centered on plug (fit rather loose) and stainless plug isn’t necessary, steel would have been fine for me at lower cost, only the mechanic👨â€ðŸ”§ sees it anyway usually, and rust generally isn’t a problem w drain plugs. Would buy again!

What I would say about this magnet vs. others is when a normal neodymium magnet is subjected to high heat it will lose it’s power. There are several types of neodymium magnets. The manufacturer states that this is a high heat magnet, so it will retain it's magnetic power. That's why I bought it for a premium.

Overall, I like it. The only functional downside is, since the valve permanentlyand unavoidably protrudes into the oil pan, a very small amount of oil will not drain. You will only notice it if you, like me, usually wait until about the last drip with a regular drain bolt before putting it in. I actually tested it, and the amount of trapped oil is not enough for me to worry about, but enough to mention it.I chose this valve over many others since it's made in the US, made of steel and not brass, and has a low profile. It also has a very secure seal system. I think it can take as much of a hit as a regular bolt and not lose oil. Being low-profile, it is unlikely to be hit, or the blow would not be as severe. You cannot say that about the certain well known competitor product which has none of these advantages except perhaps one: it's self contained. The Votex does require you not to misplace the drain attachment, which isn't a big deal.Pricey perhaps, but being made in the USA justifies it. If you are planning to keep a car and go your own long term oil changes, it's worth it.

This is a heavy oil plug so it feels like a good quality build. I heard of other magnetic plugs that are much cheaper but built without high quality materials or good quality control manufacturing. Doesn't seem worth the risk of potentially harming the engine so the price seems fair here. The size was overall longer than the OEM plug with the magnet but the threads were longer as well. But it still fit no issues, just a little bit more snug.

Got this for my RAV4 hybrid. The magnet seems = to the strength of the Gold Plug and this was a few dollars less and made in America as well. I'll have to see how it holds up.

Satisfied with the purchase. Always use a new washer and torque the plug as per manufacturer's specification.

Swapped it with the original drain plug. So much better than all the eBay crap that's going around. Don't be fooled by those titanium/aluminium drain plugs that may break and block the drain hole in your oil pan.Magnet is strong and fit on my Toyota without a glitch. Recommended!
