FYI if you don't already know, most of the noise comes from the wheel wells so DO THE WHEEL WELLS FIRST! And you probably don't need to do anything else besides that because 90+ % of all the noise comes from the wheel wells area (from road noise as the tires roll on the road and vibrate the air). Don't bother with the floor, the doors, the trunk, or the roof unless are looking for that last 10% of improvement because you are a car stereo enthusiast (or you like to waste money and do extra work LOL). I put multiple layers of butyl sound mats totalling about 1/4 inch on my four wheel wells (plus about 2 inches farther around the perimeter of the wheel wells), and just a little bit on the front floor (driver and front passenger floor) but I probably didn't even need the floor. The wheel wells made a HUGE difference. My car had NO sound insulation whatsoever and was horrible to drive on the highway, now it is PLEASANTLY QUIET and a joy to drive. I actually also put alot of sound mats on the middle and back floor, but it didn't make any difference so I removed it. So I recommend a minimum of two 80-mil layers on all four wheel wells, but preferably four layers to total about 1/4 inch. Or use three layers of the 120-mil mats. The more the better, but it seems to me that 1/4 inch is enough to bring the noise down to a luxury level.

It's great I couldn't be happier I recently decided to upgrade my stock door speakers on my Nissan versa and I bought some decent ones from Amazon ones I stalled them it sounded like crap the rattling was unbearable it was the crappiest sound everLuckily I saw this mats and decided why not it sounds like crap I can't go any lowerBut I was shocked after was done installing it every thing changed I can actually hear music not noice my speakers sound great the bass was awesome this mats do make a big difference it's kind of a pain in the rear to install them but the results are worth itActually it's not that hard to install just make sure everything is clean inside your door and you have a good pair of scissors

I have a 2020 Jeep SRT 8, 6.4 liter 500hp V8 that is straight piped. Needless to say, it is loud af. Noticeable dampening of drone/vibration in back. I would say upwards of 30-40%. Great value for a lot of material. Installed super easy. Def buy a seam roller if you dont have one. 5 stars

Had to rip out the factory sound deadening in my trunk after the seal leaked and filled it with water. These mats were very easy to lay out and apply. I was able to get a decent coverage of the area without making a plan or anything. So far they have worked well, and I would definitely recommend.

This is my first experience with VVivid mats. In the past I have used kilmat. The marketing of this product feels more targeted to high end sports cars, whereas my experience with kilmat was primarily for use in work vans. The products seem similar but this definitely feels thicker and more like a "foil." In other words I believe the foil layer is thicker but I could be wrong about that. In addition to the surface being different, the adhesive side seemed much less tacky to the touch. If you look at the picture I have taken you can almost see bends in it from the adhesive side, evidence of the more rigid foil layer inside.Apparently I have not been rolling these out sufficiently in the past. The website makes it clear that you have to use a metal roller to improve the product performance. I really have been lazy and will be going back over the areas that are still exposed as soon as I can get some better rollers. However, the product does adhere even without it. It is implied that the sound properties and long term viability will be better if you really roll it a lot as opposed to the quick once-over I have done in the past.In terms of actually measuring the sound deadening, that is something that is a big challenge. I can't really accurately compare performance vs kilmat as I no longer have access to the vehicle where that was installed. But I plan to maybe get some more of this in the future and compare them under identical conditions. This one feels more premium and thicker to me, but it also seems to be a little more expensive than the kilmat, at least based on what I have paid for it in bulk.CONCLUSIONThe jury is still out on the exact level of sound deadening you can expect from installing this, but it does work. I plan to use it on a lot of projects, not just automotive. If you are targeting the interior of of a high end auto installation, my gut tells me to go with this over kilmat. But I will keep testing over time.

Extremely easy to work with and absolutely does what they say it's supposed to do, I ended up using it throughout the battery box of a Ruckus style scooter and it eliminated 70% of my vibration noise...... A+!

It’s superior to any stock sound deadening, and simple to install. The price is right too!

My 1999 Minicab was loud as f—- in the cab due to motor being beneath the seats. Added this dead mat in the cab and now nearly all sound is gone, I’d say 95% of it

Bastante calidad y dureza en el material pero fácil de moldear, brinda buen aislamiento tanto acústico como del calor. Lo recomiendo.

I used this product in a 87 Grand Prix with a 5.3l ls and 3" holley exhaust system. I had a box of Noico and used it up and purchased this product to finish off the car. Both worked well, the car is much quieter on the inside. This product has more square footage to the box and was slightly less expensive. I'd buy this again over Noico, my two cents

Terrible photo but the only one I took during the install, but I have bought this deadening 2 separate times now and love it. Should have just bought a bunch the first time. Buying a 3rd order now. Did my doors and rear hatch in my 4Runner and wow what a world of difference. Roof is up next!Running 2 12’s on an 5k amp and man it’s so much nicer sounding now.
