I think fiberglass might be the most abrasive, nasty stuff to work on, ever. Last time I volunteer to replace someone's transom.Anyway, lots and lots of grinding to be done, and these have been my go-to disc. I tore out the entire transom outer fiberglass and core, plus the majority of the inner fiberglass, plus ground all the inside surfaces in prep for tabbing, plus a bunch of work on the helm console to fix the most atrociously mounted speakers ever, and I think I've gone through three or four discs so far. These cut fast, last as long as I expect, and don't fling a bunch of grit and crud around when first spun up. Good quality and great price.

These are not that great. They are about 1/2 as thick as a quality flap disk. They don’t last very long grinding steel. I just ordered the high quality ones that I usually buy that last 3 or 4 times longer. So lesson learned. You get what you pay for.

Chances are, if you’re shopping for flap discs, you already know what you need and what tool you need them to fit on. Instead, let me tell you what I used these on and how they performed.First off, I’m using these on a 4 1/2†angle grinder. I gave the flap disc a quick test on some heavily rusted metal and it had little issue getting me down to bare steel. What I really wanted these discs for was rough shaping axe handles out of hardwood and these discs are beasts. Ash, hickory, and even heartwood give way easily under the 36-grit wheel. The discs do a great job of clearing dust and have to get really hot before they start to glaze and gum up the grit. I’m amazed by how quickly wood is removed and It’s practically no time at all before I’m switching to a finer grit.If you need an aggressive grit on a contoured surface, these should be the first flap disc you reach for.

We go through flap disks like water (no we don't use them with water, its an expression). These are comparable to some of the cheaper stuff we buy locally, but they are far superior. Great grit, fast action on metal, and last easily three times longer than the stuff we have been using. This is especially true on stainless steel; grinding, smoothing, shaping after welding we felt with our old discs like we were spending almost as much time changing disks as using them; they wore out quickly. These discs are tough, fast, and seem to last much longer. We have used them on mild steel, and stainless; have not tried them on woods. Our angle grinders really like them. Good value for our shop, good value for the DIY'er as well.

Quality seems good. No problem installing. Fits my DeWalt 4 1/2" hand grinder perfectly. Works effortlessly---truly, it removes rust and paint very fast. I was impressed at how quickly it restored an old axe head. Will be great for the casual use I require. I haven't had them that long so can't comment on durability, but I'll update this review if there are any issues. For now, I'd definitely order again, and would recommend to family and friends.
