I LOVE these. They are safe, effective, easy to use, and you can easily check if a wire is clamped down properly. If not, open the lever, insert the wire all the way, and you're set. Ease of use for temporary connections is unbeatable, but I'm making all my permanent connections with these as well.Note: I am not a licensed electrician, but I do try to educate myself as well as possible when I do any kind of work.

Wago lever-nuts may be more expensive than a wire nut, but for DIY-type projects they are absolutely unbeatable:- Faster and easier than a wire-nut to attach, especially with only one hand over your head.- You can add wires later--try THAT with a wire nut.- Incredibly easy to remove and re-use or replace a wire, and doesn't leave the removed wires all twisted up.- Amazingly strong grip.- When it's closed, its CLOSED. No mystery whether every wire in the bundle really did get grabbed properly.- Don't need much strip depth and leave absolutely no chance of exposed wire at the base unless you drastically over-strip.- If you're connecting multiple solid core wires there is zero chance of one of the wires not getting caught and popping out after you think everything is together.- Guaranteed hold attaching multiple stranded wires, or solid to stranded, or significantly different wire gauges.- When you take into account the twisted part below a traditional nut, probably take up less space in a box, practically speaking.- Since you can clearly see each wire coming out it's easier to follow what goes where in a box.Maybe if you're wiring an entire house and want to save some money for margins on the project the cost benefit of wire nuts wins, but for my house, the time and annoyance saved working with these things is more than worth the extra cost. Especially a few years down the line when I go back to work in that box again (or when I realize I did something wrong and go back to fix it), I'll thank myself for the few bucks extra.Oh, and if you've never used these and are picturing the levers being weak or having to hold it open to put the wire in like spring-load terminals, that's not how these work--the lever snaps open (quite firmly), you put the wire in and push on the lever, and it snaps closed HARD (watch your fingers). Here's the weird thing, though: As fantastic as these (the Wago 222 series) are, the Wago 221 series lever nuts are actually the newer model (I was fooled by the lower number) and improve on an already near-perfect product. They're transparent so you can see that the wire is seated, MUCH smaller, have easier-to-operate levers, a test point for a meter, and bigger holes so are easier to fit wire in.It seems weird to call a product 5 stars then say there's something even better, but honestly it's the truth. You won't go *wrong* with these, but the 221s are even better.

I bought my Wago Lever-Nuts to make the connections in my house rewiring project. I'm totally rewiring my 1950's wiring and upgrading it with AFCIs, GFCI's, modern day Romex, and proper grounds. These are a little more expensive than wire nuts and the "push in" connectors you buy at the big box stores, but if you want to do a sweet, neat, fully functional wiring job than these are perfect for your jumpers, pigtails, and other related connections. I love them. They will lay flat inside the box and take up less room. Although it isn't required by the NEC, I taped all my switches, receptacles, and the Wagos with electrical tape. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

I originally purchased these for my home. I ended up using them on many many projects at my factory. It's an older factory with a lot of shall we say bad wiring that has changed over the last three or four decades. I have been replacing several hundred of those old thousand watt high bay lights with LED and I have been trying to use these for almost all of the wiring connections. They work great and fantastic for 12 and 14 gauge. If you're trying to use them on 480 volt it's okay but they don't work for 10 gauge wire. The wire is too big to fit into the hole. As long as you know that and you only plan to use it on 12 or 14 either solid or stranded then they are fantastic and if you haven't purchased them before you will very quickly slap yourself in the face for not realizing that you should have had these in the beginning.

The individual connections are great for making sure every wire is secure. They are super easy and my only complaint is that the 5 wire one can be hard to fit in receptacle boxes.

Thanks Gordon for the post. I had the same problem where the 12G wire didn't push in. But the 14G could be forced in. The reason was that i didn't open the level all the way to thr 90 degree, as pointed out by Gordon. You must pull the level all the way up until the copper in the little hole lift up. Then the wire can fit in. Then push the level back down all the way to lock the wire in place.A simple picture on the box is needed to guide users.

my area sometimes has houses built in the 70's with aluminum branch circuits. The Wago 222 with the paste is an approved connection to combine aluminum and copper. The 5 port come in super handy with two-gang boxes and multiple grounds.

these are much stronger clamping than the WAGO 221. I read that one must use 222's for alumunum wiring, that I have in my house. You also need the anti-oxidant paste. but these lever-nuts are great.

So much better than Marrette connectors, positive fitting. you are not left wondering if a cable is going to come loose in the box.
