These are amazing! I have to splice wires routinely and been using the standard wire nuts, but over time, they tend to get loose and fall off.I saw these on Amazon and thought I give them a try. To my amazement, they were extremely easy to use and I don’t need to worry about twisted wires and recrimping them. These come in different sizes, so make sure you read the product description before hitting the checkout button. These are made for indoor applications only. The connectivity and performance is like the traditional wire nuts. They are a great value for the money and will give your project a professional look and feel.I purposely pull on them and the wires didn’t come loose. The sturdiness is top notch.Thank you for reading this review, if you work with wires a lot, definitely give this a try. Last thing I want to mention is that there are a lot of generic knock-offs, you should stay away from those. There isn’t much of a price savings and the fire risks are too great.

I love these things. They get a nice, snug grip on wires, are pretty easy to use, have the strip length molded onto one side with some specs as well as a visual representation of how deep the contact is inside the case. The levers require a lot of force to open and close, and they snap shut, which may cause you to lose your grip, get pinched/struck by the lever, or scare you half to death. This can make it a bit of a (literal) pain to operate them, but they're tool-free and have a reliable grip on the wire conductors. I can overlook those faults for a 5-star review, plus I'm missing a lot from one of my thumbs and I think that I can give them the benefit of a doubt that my handicap contributes to my minor complaints. The construction of these is consistent and as far as I can tell the quality-control is excellent. I have only used the 50 I have now and would need to use more like a few hundred to have a reliably accurate observation to share. The materials WAGO usually uses is polyamide (PA) 6.6 and 4.6, with polycarbonate for insulation. I recently found some of their din rail-mounted samples upstairs in my dad's shop, where they endured low humidity, temperatures over 100 °F during the summer (higher because the attic gets no cooling and has 0 insulation directly under a metal roof), and being forgotten and covered in dust for a good few years. They do get a little brittle after a couple of years in those harsh conditions, which is what I'd expect from plastics anyway. but they seem to tolerate all that better than many other plastics.I would be careful and expect breakage if I had to open one of these up after 2-3 years of being exposed to higher temperatures, specifically in the levers and against solid impacts, but if you were to handle them in a fashion even remotely resembling "gentle," they'd probably be fine. Unless you need to open a lever, due to the force needed and the thinness of the material there. The lever-type DIN-mount terminal blocks broke more frequently in my attic-aged samples. The low cost of these lever-nuts is such that breakage after years of service would not be upsetting for me beyond a brief twinge of guilt. They're (2-conductor type) smaller than the images seem to suggest. WAGO's listed specs are:ELECTRICAL:Rated voltage (II / 2) [V] 400 VRated impulse voltage (II / 2) [kV] 4kVRated current [A] 32ATEMPERATURE:Ambient temperature (operation) 40 °C / 185 °FContinuous operating temperature up to [°C] 85 °C / 104 °FSIZE:Width 12.4 mm / 0.488 InchHeight 14.5 mm / 0.571 InchDepth 20.5 mm / 0.807 InchCONDUCTOR INFO:Fine-stranded conductor 0.08 … 4 mm² / 28 … 12 AWG (note: same specs for solid and coarse-stranded listed)Strip length 9 … 10 mm / 0.35 … 0.39 Inch(note: I copied the and got conversions for the specs that most people will probably wish had been listed directly from WAGO's page; interestingly, some of the specs in this Amazon listing are wrong).(I bought these from the HomElectrical seller)

These connectors are great especially for field instrumentation.

These things are great. Sometimes only need to connect two wires, but sometimes more. They make them with the ability to connect more than just two. I really like them.

For those who don't already know, Wago nuts are an alternative to wire nuts. They come in different sizes and formats. I learned about them from a YouTube video on common mistakes with wire nuts. While Wago nuts are more expensive, they really simplify making wire connections. I am very grateful for learning about them.

I use these primarily for applications which involve stranded wires. The push in connectors don't allow extraction of stranded wires if a change is needed-- the stranded wire has to be cut and that can be a problem with the remaining length plus the old push in connector has to be discarded. For solid copper house wires 14awg-12awg, the preferred connectors are the push in style for cost reasons; unless the connection is expected to be changed again in which case the ease of disconnect for a Wago is worth the cost. For places that have stranded wire such as fixtures to house wire, the Wago are preferred. I have also found that with stranded multicolor wire in conduit in complicated wiring situations the Wago are very useful, there are so many possible chances for a mistake following the wire routing. The 2 pin Wago are also extremely useful for making temporary cord connects, such as for testing a luminaire for suitability before actual installation. There is no damage to the (usually stranded) luminaire wires and the connector can be left on the cord and re-used numerous times. I have yet to wear out the Wago I connected to a cord. The bare wire sections are completely covered by the Wago which adds to safety vs. the unsafe alligator clip method. The only time I use wire nuts anymore is when just repairing an old installation, or when using the specialist water resistant (silicone filled) wire nuts, or for certain oddball heavy gauge wiring. The downside to Wago: more costly solution, a little more bulk than push-in, and the hazard of getting Asian counterfeits (connectors must be UL or VDE).
