I bought some of these for my son's 12 inch bikes. The hardware is great looking and the brackets are very beefy. It would take a lot of force to bend them. The instructions calls for some assembly grease which I had some for my other bike projects (). On his "Tigger" bike, when set to the highest (or lowest?) setting, there is about an inch of clearance on either side from the ground. Setting the wheels like that will help him in learning to balance the bike. Packaging says they are made in USA as well, but I did noticed that the package has a copyright date of 1987. They are brand new and recently manufactured (the date stamp suggested 6 months ago).Update 2014/06/11On the two 12in bikes he is using these on with one bike having 300+ miles, they are holding up pretty well. I mount them so that the wheels float an inch above the pavement if the bike is vertical. He is about to turn 4 and is riding 2 wheels now.He has managed to bend the bracket up some on his main bike, but he is tall for his age along with it being on the side he leans on all the time, and tumbles over when he falls over. The wheels themselves could use a little work. After about 300 miles on them he has managed to bang his favorite side up pretty good hitting the curbs next to the crosswalk transitions. However, it is still round and functioning flawlessly with plenty of rubber on the tire.

Very sturdy, very high quality, very easy to assemble - note - unlike the images used by the seller, these DO NOT have the steel braces that run along the bottom stay (steel tube on the bike frame from the pedals tot he rear wheel), they instead have a heavy duty rectangular "washer" with a inward facing flange that sets / locks into the dropout in front of the axel and two outward flanges which prevents the training wheel arm from shifting or rotating. Rubber tires make the wheels quiet (the noise of the cheap plastic type wheels will drive everyone insane on a long bike ride). These are really heavy duty and safe and good enough quality to be used by multiple children - and could be passed down or sold on CL after your child learns to ride without them. They are "expensive" being in the twenty dollar range but the ten, twelve and fifteen dollar ones are garbage. You get what you pay for and in this case you get a lot for the few extra dollars spent

Work great. Holds up over time. Good value to quality ratio. Will buy again if I ever need to learn to ride a bike a second time.

Well made, well designed, made in the USA training wheels. Fit the sizes they said perfectly (have two versions of this both great) Replaced some cheap ones on a free bike for my kid that had bent in normal use & never held position. These are designed to not pivot like the junk ones. These are maybe $10 more than a junk pair so save yourself the frustration and your kids skinned knees/wrists when the bad ones fail and get these.

Love the training wheels they actually have some substance to them. Not like the cheap ones that come with the bike we got our son that bent. These have held up great with him riding. He is almost 4 and needs the help of riding his bike. They were simple enough for anyone with a wrench and simple handyman skills can put on...they suggest putting a little lube on the accel to help with noise down the road and keep wheels turning easily, but they don't include a small tub with wheels...They should throw a tub of grease in.

Well constructed but the all important insert is not compatible with the 16" Specialized Hotrock frame so the wheels cannot be secured to the frame to stabilize them. I hope my grandson does not get injured before he learns to ride his bike without the training wheels. I called the company and they had no suggestion for resolution except to try a different model wheel. The Tech said he was unfamiliar with this particular bicycle, which is the best and probably most popular first bike on the market.

Wald 1216 Bicycle Training Wheels , I was expecting 16 inch wheels and kind of dissapointed when I opened the package . Really smallMy purpose was to use them for a wheel chair for my shephard and I was looking for bigger wheelsThey are ok, they seem sturdy and I have to see how they will work when my wheelchair will be readyI can only assume that for a bycycle they will perform just fine as they are auxilliary not main wheels

These were much better quality than the thin junk at our local stores. These are used on a 16" Diamondback mini viper and fit perfectly. There are instructions on the box, but there is also a printed sheet inside the box. Use the instructions on the sheet, NOT the box. The image on the back of the box shows an additional axle nut, which is not needed, nor would it function properly if one were used in the indicated location. Not everyone is mechanically inclined, but if you follow the instructions on the sheet, anyone can mount these.A 17mm socket/wrench and a 15mm DEEP socket or wrench is all you will need to assemble.
