These discs don't mess around. I got a pack of 80grit 4.5" discs and they really make beveling and prepping steel a very easy job. Couple it with a powerful grinder that doesn't mind getting a hot supper, like a metabo, and you've got a great tool to work with. It seems like these wear longer than contemporary cheap flapper discs you can find other places. They hold together, wear evenly, bite hard when you need them to remove material, and leave a great finish when you apply light pressure. I think these last longer than the jumbo flap discs we've had at the shop, even though they are thinner like a regular flap disc.I'm still on the fence about the price, but it will take me quite a bit of fab and repair work to burn through the 10pk of these discs, so there is certainly value there.Good buy and if you have a quality grinder that's smooth to run on its own, you will enjoy working with these higher quality discs.

I have dabbled around with different abrasive disc... From the solid wheels, to another "Katzco" brand flap disc.. & this is by far the preferred abrasive material removal disc..Basically I liked this one the most. It cost more. But it knocks it in the head if you want to take metal down FAST. I was removing an old iron pipe, at least part of it, doing a little minor home renovation. I didn't want to dig up concrete, and all that, I just wanted to get it down to floor level. The pipe was sealed up, and of no structural consequence or anything else. So using a portable bandsaw, I cut so much off.. and had about 1/4 inch worth of material sticking up out of the concrete floor.. I tried my katzco flap on it, a 60 grit on it.. and it worked until the disc wore out really quick.. and I switched over to one of these, and it just.. took it down to size & didn't wear out. That was impressive.No buyer remorse. The value they bring is worth the money.

They seem to work just fine. They seem to wear well so far. They are a little thicker in the center but still fit on my grinder ok.

I could kick myself for 10 years for not trying these sooner.Trust me when I say, as if this writing, all other flap discs are worthless. Yes, you are going to pay about twice as much for these as the cheap stuff from places like Benchmark but these last 10x longer or more. The bigger deal is how well they work in addition to the life. These things just won’t die.When they do die, you just cut some off and it’s started all over.There’s no way I will ever buy discount or store bought flap discs anymore.

Nothing (and I mean nothing) will take off metal,Better than these and you better not settle, a less expensive alternative,As poor performance others give.Other start well but die fast,These can be trimmed and boy do they last.I like them best in 5 inch,I’ll go with 4 1/2 if in a pinch.When they start to wear,And the work becomes a bit of a bearTurn your grinder on its sideFind an edge and spin and let it ride,Shaving away excess plastic, down to pad,They work like new, but paying for them does make me sad.Lightly spin for a polished jobHeavy grind to take off a big gob.They sell many up versions with the threaded hole,But they work the same and have just as much soul.I’ll wait on my project or order extra sets,Working without them, off are all bets

These disc are better than all the brands I've tried. That being said the cost does not make them a good choice. They would have to last 3 times longer than the other brands they do not. Maybe if they cost 25 it would be worth it at almost 50 not cost effective.
