We were talking about residential water pressure at the office so I went home and got out an old pressure gauge I had and fiddled around and was missing a few parts to be able to screw it into my house's water supply. I went to the hardware store and got ready to buy $15 worth of fittings and thought, "I'll bet there is something on Amazon that is cheaper than this and is already put together." I looked and found this.The good news, this device is already together, you can just screw it into your outside hose faucet and measure the pressure. Mine happens to be 60 PSI which is right in the middle for residential water pressure, high enough but not too high. My friend was almost 100 PSI which explains why he had mysterious leaks. He had to get a pressure regulator to run the pressure down to 60 PSI or so. His shower does not run as fast but his plumbing feels a lot better.The bad news, this device could be designed better. The hose washer does not stay put in the female hose fitting when not in use. I got done testing and disconnected and looked at the gauge. There was a big drop of water that got inside the plastic cover somehow. I was able to pry off the plastic and dry the inside but I don't think I should have had to. (Complain, complain... "Hey, I'm reviewing, that's my job.") One more thing, the red follower to read maximum pressure is a great idea but it is a bit floppy. It is supposed to move to follow the gauge needle but stop when the needle stops. This tends to move on its own.As long as I am at it, two things about the listing:1. One of the pictures says "PRODUCT INTRUCTIONS." I say, I wish they could get a native English speaker to look these over before posting.2. In the "INTRUCTIONS" they say (correct, if clumsy), "3/4" F GHT Internal Thread Hose." There is a standard called NH, National Hose which is commonly called GHT, Garden Hose Thread and this device has the female of the species so it will fit on any American garden hose. In another picture, they show this device mounted in a plumbing set up with valves and angles and such and it says "INTERNAL THREAL [sic] SUITABLE FOR 3/4" MALE CONNECTOR." Thread not threal, whatever but it is NOT suitable for a 3/4" male NPT (National Pipe Thread/Tapered) connector. That is a different type of thread. I expect that anybody that wants to connect to 3/4 NPT threads knows the difference so I am not adding much but there it is.
