I got this to supplement our child’s homeschool curriculum with some fun hands-on art time. We do many crafts already but had limited painting to using poster paints. Now we are entering the world of watercolors and this is a great kit to get started!

That beginning childhood set of watercolors? Here it is. That classic set of basic mixable colors and a nice inclusion of water color paper that has appropriate thickness. It easily washes off and makes a great, inexpensive gift for children of parents whom you either love enough or hate enough to give a messy gift to.

Watercolors are great. The paper isn’t any different than regular printer paper or sketching paper. Markers and paints have bled through if they were darker colors, so I don’t necessarily recommend the paper. But the paints are good quality, and they wash off of clothing and walls very easily!

My grandchildren are almost 3 and almost five, and they’ve been water coloring a little bit with their mom. This kit is just perfect because it has the paper, the brushes which they can identify as theirs and the paint and they don’t have to use their mothers things.
