These things are cheap and should be judged as such. If you were to use them with smaller, lighter microphones they'd be perfect and I'd have no complaints. I'm using them on toms with SM57s on them so there is some flex but again, nothing you cant work around. I ended up placing them in the best posible position in relation to the hoops and then securing/tightening the mics with a zip-tie around the clip, as well as locking the tilt mechanism with a bit of epoxy for extra assurance...They've held up for months now, the mics haven't sliped of fallen out of place since and our drummers haven't complained at all. For context, this is in a church setting, 3 different drummers, 3 services and 2 rehearsals a week. So in short, they work but you can always do better so they'll only stay until I upgrade mics :)

I own a set of AKG drum mics, which have their own integral holder and are meant to screw directly to a threaded mic stand. These clamps have their own permanent clips for slip-in mics, so I cannot mount the AKGs on them. I did not notice this when I ordered them. It’s not a knock against the product, just a note for others to be sure your mics can mount in the clips.

I liked the price point, but beware...I got what I paid for. Which isn't to say I'm unhappy. I use them, they work well enough for me. It just takes a little tape to make sure the microphone doesn't slip around.

I use these clips often. They're not the most stable clips in the world, the mics will slip out unless secured with some gaff tape, but given they are so cheap, they sure save room. So I would still recommend them. Just pick up a roll of gaff tape as well.
