The new trucks we use in my department are really nice but they have little things that don't make sense. One of which is the placement of the mic clips , they are just awkward to get to if your up front alone trying to speak to dispatch. So I ordered these and put one in a way more convenient spot and it has been great.

I gave it a 1 star because i couldnt give it a 0 star . I stuck it to my clean dash and put my mic in it and immediatly it fell off . If it don’t hold the microphone, it’s not worth having.

This microphone hanger is well made and sturdy, but even though it is made of metal, it has some kind of non-conductive coating on the metal so it doesn't ground the microphone clip when it's in the hanger. As a result, the radio never silences the traffic using other PL tones than the radio, the radio acts as though the mic is always off hook so you hear all the traffic on the repeater, not just the traffic with the correct PL tone.If your radio doesn't use PL tones this would work well for you, but for a Motorola radio that uses the metal microphone hanger to ground the clip and activate PL tone (silent) mode, it doesn't work!

This hook is made out of thick metal and the adhesive backing has yet to come off.

Claims it has 3M sticky tape on it, but it fails to stick to anything, even after heated up. Gets 2 * for the metal clip at least being accurate and the low price.
