We bought these to replace some older ones that we were given years ago. They are made well, easily hung and have a nice gentle ringing sound when the doors are open and closed.

I have a few of the neighbors kids and my close friends stop by every day... I used to have plain bells on the door handles to let me know I had a visitor.. but often I didn't hear it, or some of my smartalec friends circumvented the bells and would scare me on purpose... Well, these bells are so awesome, NOBODY CAN GET PAST THEM without them ringing! I hear it no matter the room, and they actively tried to sneak in.... BUSTED EVERY TIME! I can't say enough about these to convey how much I love these little beauties! Price is good, and do they work .. you bet THEY DO! Sensitive to the smallest touch and audible... Ding ding

This was a general loser. The bell became separated from the spring steel piece within moments of opening the package. The bell was shipped in a plastic bag, inside another plastic bag, so the poor packaging may have been the cause. But the tiny rivet that holds the bell and spring together also isn't up to the task for any amount of use.After temporarily reattaching the bell, it was clear that the bend in the spring was intended to mount the assembly to the door frame and have the door strike the bell on opening/closing. That did not work very well, since upon closing the door the outer surface of the door would smack the bell too hard and cause the thing to ring very loudly and forever. Re-bending the spring into a more rational shape let me mount the bell to the inside of the door as shown in the illustrations in the listing. This worked better, but it was quite easy to open the door without causing any ringing at all. And also quite easy to close the door too hard and cause the darn bell to ring loudly for many many seconds. Lots of fiddling with various mounting positions did not give any joy.Although the tone of the bell is pleasant and about what we expected, the failed rivet, the misshaped spring, and the inconsistent operation led me to return this item. I may work for you, but did not for us.

Such a charming little bell. We use it on the door of our historical museum and it ads that little extra vintage touch. Our offices are on the second floor and when the air conditioner is on, it's almost impossible to hear the front door open. However, we can still hear this bell clearly through all the noise. It's a perfect addition.

The bell worked as intended however the bracket snapped when we tried to screw it in place.Cheap material, but wasn’t that expensive. So I guess you get what you pay for sometimes.
