  • THERMAL EXPANSION PROTECTION: The valve includes a bypass feature that effectively controls thermal expansion pressure, permitting the flow of water back through the valve into the main when pressures - due to thermal expansion on the outlet side of the valve - exceed the pressure in the main supply. It has an operating temperature range of 33° F (0.5° C) to 180° F (82° C).

This 1 inch lead free brass water pressure reducing valve is the standard model, designed to reduce incoming water pressure to protect plumbing systems and reduce water consumption for commercial, industrial and residential applications. The easy maintenance assembly consists of a replaceable seat module, NPT threaded female union inlet by NPT female outlet and a bypass feature to control thermal expansion pressure. The temperature range is 33 to 180 degrees F (0.5 to 82 degrees C). Suitable for up to 300 psi (20.7 bar), the pressure range can be adjusted from 25 to 75 psi (172 to 517 kPa) with the standard setting at 50 psi (345 kPa).

Installed on PEX with shark bite fittings. No problems after months of operation. Stopped banging pipes due to high...100psi... Pressure. Set this one to around 75 psi.

Reinstalling a Pressure Relief Valve is a job needing long handle tools to break the nuts that have sat for long periods of time. I was going to have a plumber out but figured $500 was so much I could do it. It was impossible to break the connector free with a 12 inch handle wrench. So I got a piece of copper pipe and extended the handle to get torque enough to break the nuts free. Job done in an hour.

The plumber recommended this one and it took him about a hour to install it. Amazon provided good customer service on this purchase. Only complaint is that it is quite expensive.

I used this reducing valve to replace the worn watts reducing valve that was at least 18years old. The unit fit perfectly in the old location. I left the downstream pressure set at the shipped 50psi for my application but it’s adjustable 25-75psi. So far it works great.
