So after reading the reviews, I decided I would give these a shot for my 6 and 9 year old. Before we took them anywhere, I gave them a light sand with 220 and applied 3 more top coats and 5 bottom coats of Helmsman Spar Urethane to make sure it was completely water tight. Other reviews had delaminations early on and the coats appear to be sprayed on vs rolled on.We shall see if the extra $10 in urethane works.We also have some surf wax I will be applying on the exposed edges and top for grip and extra protection.I’ll update after a couple trips to the beach.

If I could give it no stars I would. First time my son went to use it, it started falling apart. Complete waste of money!!!! DO NOT BUY!

Packaging was perfect but the board was dented, dinged, and nicked all over - we noticed this as we were taking it out of the box and didn’t even have the plastic shrink wrap off. Board was super thin and flimsy. Paint drips and drops all over the top.
