The igniter ordered was not the correct one for my oven. I may be able to retrofit it. I assume it works, but, never hooked it up. The old wasn't working due to user error upon installation. I reinstalled the old one correctly and it works fine now.

Installed this product in my KENMORE oven December 2024. Today is February 20, 2025 and ignitor has already failed. I appreciate that they list all models this ignitor works with. It seems like all these ignitors regardless of manufacturer are prone to failure within a very short period of time from all reviews I’ve read. This ignitor did work well in oven but just doesn’t last. If purchasing this product be fully prepared to replace within a very short period of time even when product is used infrequently. I think I’d rather pay more for a product and get better quality than to throw $20 away and have to go thru replacing 6x’s a year due to product failure. It’s unfortunate quality is so poor. I assume if they can sell large quantities of these at $20 and keep you in revolving door of buying again and again then I doubt quality will ever be given any consideration. I suggest buying OEM, it costs more but you won’t be spending time buying multiple times a year. Although replacement install is simple; does anyone really want to go through doing that every other month? Buyer beware. 1-star

We seem to go thru an igniter about every 12-14 months. That being said, this igniter was of course an easy install, and it works great in our GE oven/range. The price is right. You could tell right away it got much brighter and hotter than our old failing igniter. I typically keep an extra one on hand so we don't have down time, as we have several kids and use the oven daily if not multiple times daily. Would recommend this igniter.

Changing igniters can be difficult in smaller double ovens as it requires one to work with wiring located at the back of the oven in a cramped space. This can be alleviated by going in through the back of the oven, but that can require you moving the oven out from a wall and possibly having to disconnect the gas line if it is too short for this procedure as well as a back panel. Going in from the front was my option and this is my second go-around with this oven as the other igniter went out in the bottom oven a few years ago.Installation Note:Make sure you have a 1/4" nut driver and wire strippers on hand to proceed. Please note that there are usually TWO igniters in each oven if you have a "BROIL" setting. The broiler igniter is at the top of the oven and the "BAKE" igniter is usually at the bottom of the oven. I replaced the wrong one the first time around years ago as this fact didn't dawn on me until the "repair" was completed unsuccessfully. So hopefully you don't suffer this embarrassment like I did.Locating the igniter in the oven isn't hard as it's usually under some sort of metal pan or cover which have a few screws. Once found the igniter is usually held in place with two screws. Remove these screws and then cut the two wires (making sure the oven is "off" or unplugged first) attached to the igniter. Leave as much wire as possible as there is usually not much available. Wire the new igniter on with the provided porcelain wire nuts. It makes no difference as to which wire connects to which on the igniter. Now do the reverse order to complete the task. It is simple to do, but awkward. If you have one single large oven, it is much easier with lots more room to work in.Note: The metal bracket that holds the igniter are interchangeable and you can remove the old bracket from the "bad" igniter and put it on your new one if you have fitment issues.Hope this helps you!

The mounting holes do not line up exactly so I had to lengthen one slightly with a drill. This is for an old Kenmore oven. Other than that, the igniter works fine. Made in China.

I have had my over for 4 years. Had it replaced by a technician the first time. He put in what I thought was an OEM part. That lasted a few weeks. He replaced again. It lasted 6 months. So I bought two of these in June of 2024. Today December 22. I had to replace it again. Luckily I bought two. It worked in testing but after putting the everything back together it didn't work. It was getting power but just didn't glow. So I order two more because I can get them fast. Need it before Christmas. Hopefully one will work. I did also order another OEM from GE so we'll see what works.
