I decided to try these Tiger Paw flap discs when I found them on Amazon. They are used on steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and anything else that comes through my commercial fab/welding shop. Mostly they are used for removing dirt/grease/paint/contamination from metal surfaces prior to welding, beveling edges to weld on 3/8" and thinner materials, and cleaning up buckshot and slag after the welds are complete. For heavier grinding I grab the Metabo with a 6"x1/4" rock, or the backbreaker 9" Wildcat if I really have to get down on something.I paid about $3.50 each (in packs of 10) for these on Amazon. Compare to buying single flap discs at hardware and big box stores from $2-5 each. Expendables like these can bleed you dry when you try to save a few bucks here and there. You end up spending more money from short effective product life and having to change them out more often, and more importantly more time from taking longer to perform a task. Having to use a grinder is bad enough. Grinding costs money. Welding makes money. Economy flap discs tend to only cut well when they are new. So you end up spending much, much more time grinding when they start to clog, dull, and glaze over. These Tiger Paw discs last longer and cut better than anything else I've used. And they cut at least 85% as well as a fresh new disc when they are down to just a nub. Easily the effective life is twice as long as any other flap disc in my experience. These are easily worth the $35/10 bulk pack cost. I will be trying a box of the super high density version in 2019. They cost about twice as much, but it may be worth it in reduced sanding and grinding time.Bottom line I was going through 5-10 economy and other brand name flap discs per month. Two boxes of 10 of these Tiger Paw discs has lasted me all year this year. I still have 4-5 new to finish out 2018 with. So $70/year with these vs. $120-$240/year with economy flap discs. That's enough of a difference to notice just in direct cost/year. The time saved in grinding tasks and changing out flap discs adds up to many times more than that, easily in the $1000-2000 range over a years time.

I always use these discs, and have for years. For some reason this order cannot get sent to me correctly. I ordered 1 box of 10 discs. I received 1 disc on the first shipment, I reached out and thought the issue had been resolved. Second shipment, 1 disc again. Almost $50 taken out of my account and I cannot get my order? Not happy at ALL!

Purchased the discs to grind down welds Cuts very quickly, very happy with the performance of the productSuggest using for initial cutting of the metal to knock down high spots and use a lighter grit for finishing the metal.

Do not buy this. False advertisement. Says pack of 10 but they only ship you 1. Single pad is worth $5 at most. Don’t waste your time and money!

These flap discs get a 3/5 for longevity. Although they rip through material pretty good, they have about 50% or less of life than others

I have seen this brand before but never tried it until i got a chance to review these and some cutoff wheels. I build drivegates in the field so grinders are my best friend. I'm very wary about using cheap grinding/cutoff wheels after buying a bulk box of cheap brand cutoff wheels and had 3 of them blow up on me in a row. Looked at them closer and noticed tiny cracks in themwhich could have been catastrophic if i kept using then or one of my helpers took a piece to the face. I got a pack of cutoff wheels first and carefully gave them a try. By the end of the day and an 8'x24' drivegate frame built I was still on the first wheel with a tiny bit to spare. For a 4.5" wheel that's incredible. I don't even think I've done that with a Diablo. I normally use 7" when cutting 2.5" 11-13ga square tubing but I was anxious to give these a try. They look extremely well made and on the thin side but turned out to perform just as good. The flap discs are type 27 which are square but these are flatter than most, if that makes sense. Easy to get more out of them when the edges aren't eaten up right away. I'm not sure if the phenolic backing causes these to last longer or what but I have certainly found my new brand of wheels. Price isn't bad but I'll pay more for longevity and safety any day. Side by side I think they are better than Diablo and the flaps are right up there with, if not better than Dewalt. I don't know much about this brand but I'm assuming they're US based by the quality. Tiger has definitely found a new customer.Update! Holy cow, these are made in the USA and that explains everything! I guess the listing probably says this but I didn't read beyond the type of wheels I needed when I ordered them. Same price as the "premium" brands but better, safer and longer lasting. This is the new premium

I like these flap discs. very handy for light grinding and perfect for cleaning up dirty metals and light rust. Seems durable and should last a while with the right use of finesse.
