I've been soldering for only a couple of years & never figured out how to effectively rejuvenate the soldering iron tips. Given the tips are fairly expensive, I wanted to figure out how to do this. Turns out a polishing bar is an important component in doing this. There are several videos on how to use the bar along with tinning paste. I've had excellent results.

I had a soldering iron that was not getting hot enough or would cool down fast. I used this to clean the tip and soldering iron is working good again.
