This is my first drill press. I don't need anything super big or heavy duty. I mostly do some small woodworking (like scroll saw work, etc.) and needed something to make small, precise entry holes at exact angles. I was pleasantly surprised when I received this drill press due to its heavy, sturdy base and construction. It does everything I need it to do and so far have been very pleased with it. The tilting table is sturdy enough for my needs. (I always use a digital inclinometer to set my angles because this is critical for the scroll saw bowls I make, so I don't care if the table gauge isn't exactly accurate.)The unit runs very smoothly and quietly. The assembly was easy and quick. The instruction sheet is fair (not great but adequate for anyone used to putting things together). The drill press has a depth setting adjustment, which I really like. I've had no problems with the chuck. Just be sure to follow the directions and remove all traces of manufacturing oil from the shaft and chuck before mounting it so it won't be likely to slip while in use.I haven't used it to drill anything super thick so far. Just mostly small entry wholes in hardwood. But so far no problems. I also use it with a 5-inch disc sanding kit that uses interchangeable hook-and-loop pads. I highly recommend this drill press to anyone needing something not too large or heavy duty. For the price, I'm very satisfied with it.

A good budget drill press that fits my application, low speed and the same hole size in aluminum and acrylics. The different speeds require moving a belt, which works easily enough but would be annoying to do frequently. The chuck and chuck key could be better, but they fit my budget.

There is not much to dislike on this. The durability is heavy, solid steel, fits perfect on a table top, very easy to assemble, the drill power is plenty for a garage or small work shop, this is enough for me. You can never go wrong with a table top drill it is worth buying. Great to have in your Garage, personal Workshop, Man cave, This is a must have Wen has a good reputation in making high quality stuff if your are looking for a good one this is it. It will do the job around the house or and outdoors

Great quality for the money. Small but powerful. If you don’t have a regular work shop it’s great also because it small you mount it to a small table that you can easily move into a corner and you just pull it out as needed

Great drill press, easy assembly (10 minutes). Speeds aren't exactly as described, but the unit has plenty of power.I use mine for metal, so I just have it set to the slowest setting which also provides the most torque. The resistance/return force in the feed arm was a little tight do I adjusted that as per the manual by easing the return spring. This is a very basic drill press, great for home use or very light industrial applications. There are no bells and whistles. There's no alignment guide on the table or column, which is a little annoying because as you raise of drop the table it will shift left/right and the center hole may become misaligned with the bit. I use a small PVC pipe in the hole to to keep it zeroed & aligned with the bit.The two hex nuts that act as a depth stop beside the depth scale also tend to rattle and slide when the drill is turned on. I replaced them with nylon threaded nuts and now they don't move and hold adjustment perfectly. The press itself fully assembled weighs 34 lbs / 15kg, so it's incredibly light as far as presses go and easy to move around. I use mine both affixed to a table and as a portable unit I clamp to portable work table outside. As far as the build quality, all the metal is solid, no rust, the angles are squared correctly and it's a very solid unit.I strongly recommend using cutting/tapping oil on all meterial that's not wood and just go easy. Your bits and this bench drill will handle any project as long as you go easy and apply proper pressure. If in doubt, use slower speeds.

Bought recently and it is a quality tool. It was the top rated benchtop drill press on many websites and for a good reason. Similar price to much cheaper built models. Mostly assembled but you do need to install the chuck.
