When replacing, make sure to use towels to catch any water that might leak out of the line. Also be sure that the sink end of the hose is the correct size - you can cut down a larger sink end if necessary before attaching. This accessory can be used across several brands; check to see if your model number is compatible. Replacing this accessory will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the dishwasher and novice repair experience. You must unplug the appliance or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Also make sure you turn the water supply off to the dishwasher. Was hoping this would fit my Maytag dishwasher (MDB4949SKZ) I just bought and installed. Old hose did not which was 2 hoses connected together. Was not easy finding a 12 footer. Fantastic!!

Tried saving $$ by purchasing a "universal" hose the first time around. It was not universal and made a huge mess. Save yourself the aggravation and buy this.

My dishwasher is located a little further than 6 feet from the sink, and this drain hose was just the right length to get from my dishwasher to the sink drain.

Hose was long enough and the end for the disposal was the right size, but the 90 degree turn onto the drain piece was a bit too small. Had to stretch it and then use a regular household clamp instead of the factory pinch clamp to make it stay on the drain. But with that clamp it held tight and is working fine.

Needed longer hose because dishwasher is not right next to sink disposal. Same as what came with the Kitchenaid dishwasher, but longer. Worked fine. No problems.

So far so good. Clearly much better than the cheap piece of garbage I had installed before which I caught just before it disintegrated and got brittle. Avoided a major leak just in time. This is much more supple with better quality rubber connectors.

I recommend using this product. Dont try to extend the 7ft hose your washer came with. You must use a ribbed hose and it must have max length of 10ft.

I had to return this product and I will now state for clarity ,which was not in description as this was a cross reference of my actual part number, this Hose “DOES NOTâ€.have a check valve at the elbow. Seems to be a great product otherwise.

Whirlpool Canada didn’t have this drain hose available…6-8 weeks back order. Drain hose is the right parts number as specified in their manual.
