It has multiple functions on such a small form factor, all seems to work to an extent, so if you need all three, this could work for you great.However, it's firstly an emergency whistle. As a whistle, it's not loud enough - maybe it's choice of material, maybe it's due to it's bulky multi-funciton part. But not loud enough. Kind of defeating the purpose. It needs to be a good whistle first - for emergency survival.

This whistle doesn't work. It doesn't whistle, and the compass doesn't work either. It's also big and clunky, and the plastic is poorly formed. My best guess is that they made a bunch of these and then realized they don't work, so are trying to dump them at a low price hoping people won't bother to return them. I have no idea why they would give these out as review samples. Definitely not recommended.

This thing has one job, which is to make a whistling noise when you blow through it. rating it a 3 out of 5 Jun whistling effectivenes. It is kinda weak.
