Great piece of gear. The marlin spike is made of a sturdy aluminum. The ends seems to screw on without problems. It is light weight, but still sturdy enough to pull on ropes and strings when lashing. The tip on the marlin spike makes it easy to remove knots in rope, without worrying about breaking strands.The fids are well made and paracord easily threads into them. The set comes 3 fids; a flat and needle shaped one for 550 paracord and a smaller one for micro paracord. They are study enough to push through canvas without bending. They also include a sail needle.The paracord smoother worked perfectly for smoothing off the cut ends of paracord and melting the tie off end of bracelets. The pointed part of the smoothing tool works great for straightening tangled cord when making bracelets.

While I like the variety and the apparent sturdiness of the pieces, I am at a lost to find a purpose for the black tube "case". The angled needles definitely do not fit. The longer pieces definitely do not fit. And of what's left, maybe two or three pieces fit. The case itself doesn't serve a purpose, so... why? The bag is definitely useful. All of the needles are definitely useful and I really like the size variety. I wish there were a couple more for smaller cords. I just don't like when sellers add random, useless, stuff to a "kit", and charge me for it. The scissors... seriously? Not even. They should drop the useless stuff, and either lower the price, or add a few more needles or tools. How about a lighter or heat source to seal the ends of the 550 cords? Maybe more sizes for the flat needle? Maybe one or two more varieties of the double-sided tool?

This spike is perfect. Sturdy enough to use outdoors and the fact that you can store the needles inside the spike is awesome. I checked to make sure that the cord would stay in the needles and it was such a strong connection I could hardly pull it out. All was exactly as advertised and arrived on time.

This is a high quality art that I am using on 7/64 amsteel. I still need a wire for long buries but the rest of the tools work well.

Used this for my Paracord projects, the spike is awesome and easy to work with and truly makes working with tight areas a breeze. The fids work great as well an are very durable. My only complaint is that even though I cut my paracord at an angle it was still hard to thread onto the fids. It took several attempts to get the right cut to thread. This isn’t the case with my other fids I have. Not sure if the threads are messed up or what. But like I said I have other fids that work, and the main reason I bought this was for the Marlin spike.

I was not expecting much from this purchase, but I have found myself using the various fids and the needle quite a bit in the last several weeks. My kids tore a hole in the safety net around their trampoline so I used the needle and an inner strand of paracord to sew it up. These work great. I have also enjoyed no longer burning my fingers with molten nylon just to finish an end on a cord. Now I use the tip of the spike and my ends are much more uniform. Also using the marlin spike and a clove hitch to pull cordage very tight has been very useful in lashings.

Set comes with a nice bag. The description implies that everything will fit in the hollow FID. The long needle/tightening rod does not fit with the other pieces.

I had to use the fid recently for a more finicky weave, glad I had it. Everything is quality. Also used the spike to unknot some paracord… Really happy with my purchase

All the tools are excellent except the scissors, which cannot cut paracord. Otherwise, it is a very useful tool set.

Nice looking and well made set but made me wonder where’s the handle. All the small fids have a threaded tail end but there is no matting handle or eye to fit the spot.

Great kit for paracord and a decent marlinspike for all the usual applications. Between this and the Ashley Book I'm set for life.
