I bought this to replace my carote granite pan as the non-stick covering has invariably become the opposite and makes things stick far more than a regular pan. I ordered this at the request of my wife who wanted a replacement and immediately she stated it was too small and she wanted the big one like we had before.We measured, I showed her the listing, she felt the weight of the two and ultimately conceeded they are indeed both 12" granite pans roughly equivalent. I say roughly because it doesn't come with a lid (I have so many that I am sure I will find one that fits) and the old Carote granite pan lid doesn't fit it. This pan is about 1/4" smaller on the upper lip diameter so the lid doesn't quite fit inside the appropriate lip. That was her Ah ha moment that it just felt smaller because the upper lip is just a tiny bit smaller.If this matters you can pay double the price for one of the many other granite pans but if you can live with the same size bottom diameter and just a tiny bit smaller upper diameter then this is a heck of a deal at the $13.99 for which I bought it.

If you like frying with a pan then this pan rules! I thought the French or southerners ruled the frying pan industry, who knew the Swiss were in the frying pan game! I thought they just made chocolate and watches! Well the Swiss make one hell of a pan. It heats up, cooks as good as anything those guys can make and it’s cheap! Get this pan and yodel like you are in the Alps!!

I cook sausage and bacon in mine often. I put a little of vegetable oil in the skillet and heat before adding frozen sausage. After cooking, drain some grease, then wipe the pan clean with a paper towel before it cools. So far, this is the best skillet I have used. Its only negative is that ir has no lid.

I like it so much I ordered another one. Great valve for the money. food does not stick... hope it last for a while, time will tell. but seems to be a great pan.
