Looking for a front axle that is easy to use, lightweight and looks great? The Wolf Tooth Wolf Axle is the perfect fit. Available in a variety of colors and sizes. Easily installed with a standard hex key.
Unlike other similar products, the Wolf Axle uses a captive steel washer under the head to reduce friction on the fork leg. This protects your expensive frame or fork, transfers more of the tightening torque to clamping load for a stiffer interface and prevents the axle from sticking or galling when you want to remove it. These are also a great replacement option for lost or damaged stock axles. Always apply a small amount of grease to the washer and threads when installing.

The Marin Rift Zone 1 comes with a silly 141 qr rear axle and if you want to upgrade the wheelset you're going to want a propper 12x148 boost thru axle. Marin specifies a 174mm long axle with a thread pitch of 1.5. The only thru axle I found that meets every Marin spec is sold by Marin (or Marin dealers) for like $50.I ordered the 172mm wolftooth axle assuming that I'd lose 2mm of thread engagement but it is literally perfect (see picture).Hopefully this saves someone the headache I had shopping for a reasonably priced thru axle. I'm honestly a little miffed at Marin for using a seemingly non-standard length/pitch to replace an already uncommon 141qr.Edit: I should've mentioned the bike is a 2019

The 12x172, 1.5 thread pitch axle fit my 2022 Marin Rift Zone 1 perfectly. I was looking for a 174 and could not find one. Come to find out, these are good for +- 2. Marin did not explain that on their website. 2023 uses a 1.0 thread pitch. Make sure you get the right one.

The original thru axle on my 2018 Trek Emonda has an inward bend in the non-removable handle and does not work on a Tacx Flux 2 without a lot of back and forth and sliding the adjustable handle outward. it took me a while to find the right specs and the 12x1.75, 166mm fits perfectly. There is a new Trek Bontrager branded part that will fit but the right size is out of stock everywhere.

This got stripped when I put in a tube trail side, regular hand tightening, probably did not reach 15 Nm. Bummer

Having used most other large companies axles such as Fox and SRAM these Wolf Tooth are far better machined and the use of a crush washer is a great addition.
