They are certainly not linen, and they are wide hip rather than wide leg. They are narrower at the hem, which impedes movement. They are also badly made, like a child's sewing project.

I was very skeptical about these shorts because they were pretty cheap. They’re made of a linen material, but it’s not soft, but not Scratchy either. The elastic waistband is perfect and I love that the legs are nice and roomy. The color was nice darkish green. It looked the same as the picture . They don’t shrink when you wash them, etc.. I don’t like the fact that the shipping and handling is four dollars but other than that I like these shorts a lot and I would definitely buy more. Oh yeah, I am 5’11 and these were only a couple inches above my knee, which was awesome.

UPDATE: I bought four more pairs, orange, khaki, navy, and green. I truly love them. There was a problem with the navy, which is the color I loved most. For some reason, the same size, xxl, in the navy was gigantic compared to the others. I can't understand why.The seller was really wonderful and refunded me the money without haven't to return these shorts. I'll take a chance because of that customer service and buy the navy again to, hopefully, get the right fit.ORIGINAL REVIEW: I really don't buy clothes from Amazon that aren't prime shipping and certainly never without free shipping. But I've been looking for shorts that come down to, or below, my knees and are loose fitting. AND inexpensive. There's been nothing.I saw these over and over for a few weeks and finally thought they were inexpensive enough to buy them, even with the shipping cost. I have some stomach issues and need very loose clothing.First, they came far quicker than I imagined. And second, they fit perfectly for my needs.I will say that I'm about 124 pounds and 5'4". But my stomach is usually distended. After looking at the fit chart, I actually bought XXL. The waistband is loose on me, which I needed, and the shorts are baggy, which I love.Today, I bought four more pairs in different colors! And two of the lounge pants, also XXL, that seem to be the same material. It does say free returns, which isn't usually the case when you don't buy Prime.I'll update this when I get these additional items.

it’s well-made in various aspects, and I mean the tailoring, the style, the comfort, and two convenient side-pockets. the pockets are easy to slide your hands in, fit the hands’ shape, but deep enough to ensure whatever you put in there doesn’t fall out. made by a very breathable linen&cotton blend fabric, it’s best for summer to keep you light and cool! you really can’t get a pair this good elsewhere for such a bargain!
