As the title states, this thing is garbage. First off, the wiring broke as soon as I took it out of the case (literally snapped). Second, none of the tips fit. The instructions (if that's what you can call them) offer no assistance at all. Avoid this steaming hot pile of crap and buy something else.

Nice little kit with plenty of accessories to play with, great to start out on. Great for beginners or as a back up.It has a nice case with plenty of pockets for storage, the zipper is a little flimsy though. The Iron itself is decent, but the temperature control dial is a little flimsy, you need to be careful when rotating; I'm sure if you put too much pressure it would pop off.The cord is a little short, I used a power strip to extend my range. The included instructions are a little vague and seems more like an add. Thankfully there are plenty of informative videos and blogs on the interwebz. Some of the threadings are a little off and require a little maneuvering to put on/take off.The rubber coating on the handle is nice and thick, it also has a "lip" near the end to protect your hands.Overall a good product for the money spent.

Nice assortment. Handy to use. This kit contains 52 wood burning tips and then other tips (soldering etc.). One thing that would have been nice for beginners like me would have been to have a list of the tips with tip type name, picture of tip, and picture of tip burn effect (what does it look like). That would be extremely helpful. So instead as a first project and good learning tool, I have taken a thin piece of wood board, used the tool to make a table grid, then in each row - glued printed picture of the tip, looked up tips for names , and used the tip to burn the effect. Been fun and still in progress (received kit a week ago) but would have preferred list already done so I could use my time better. Also make the instructions bigger - those included were so teeny tiny I had to break out a magnifying glass to read.

For what you get at the price it’s a great beginner kit. This is more for someone who is interested in wood burning/pyrography and is just dabbling without a lot of big projects. I had never done this kind of project before but I planned to make 6 different cutting board designs for Christmas. Let’s just say I’ve only made 3 and the tool is already crapping out on me. Maybe I have a really hard wood and have to push kinda hard but the tips have started to bend. Some things that annoy me is that the base and the tips are just screwed on by hand and start to loosen as you use them. You are constantly having to plug and unplug the tool because you can’t touch it without burning yourself. Same goes for changing any tip, you have to unplug and wait for it to cool down. The gloves they provide don’t do a thing for heat protection. The tool also gets hot and you can’t hold it at the black rubber piece you have to hold it further down near the orange handle. Also, there isn’t a sturdy stand to set the tool down on so it rolls around and has the potential to burn other objects or yourself. There is an inner tip that you use to screw all the little tips into and that tip had ended up melting to the base so now I can’t change it out for a new one and it has gotten crooked, making it harder to burn designs. All in all…it’s a good little kit for light handwork and beginners but for the projects I had in mind I probably would have done better with something more heavy duty or professional. Hopefully it lasts me through 3 more cutting boards.

Our son got a wood kit on year for Christmas and really enjoyed it. We couldn't find anything similar so upon my looking around we stumbled on wood burning kits. We did some video watching and he was intrigued so for his birthday asked for a kit. I chose this one for the price and for the amount of items it came with. There is a small direction's books, but we really didn't use it. The tools were really easy to navigate and we just did an little research in how hot the sodering iron should be. He has made several designs with the stencils along with several of his own designs. He goes to work in the garage almost every day on his wood burning and thoroughly enjoys it. Pretty soon we will move to bigger pieces of wood and see what he comes up with.

Purchased as a gift for an adult family member. He has enjoyed it and is really getting creative with the stuff he is making
