We needed a step stool for our pantry. The kids were climbing the shelves to grab snacks, and even my wife couldn't reach some of the items we had placed on the upper shelving. This step stool looked like the perfect solution.The stool was easy to assemble: 8 screws, 2 dowels, 6 good quality felt pads and about 10 minutes was all it took to go from sealed package to assembled stool. The instructions are easy enough to figure out since everything is given in clear, step-by-step pictures. The kit contains a very nice Allen key with a T-shaped plastic handle to aid in assembly. It is one of the nicest tools I've come across in a kit like this. Typically, such tools are ready for the dustbin before you take them out of the package. Thanks to the comfortable handle, this one is good enough to keep, though it has only one key size.The weight limit of 154 pounds (70 kg) indicates this step stool was intended mainly for use by children to teenagers, though many adult women also are under the limit, including those in our household, which works out in our plan for its use.It's heavy enough to stay put, but light enough that the four-year-old has no trouble picking it up and bringing it where he needs it. Thanks to the placement of the handle, on top, it doesn't tempt the kids to put it up the wrong way, as happened to one of our previous 0plastic stools which shattered, leaving sharp edges. Setting it upside down is difficult and offers no functional purpose. I can, however, see one of the more creative kids one day extending their reach by putting it on its side, but that orientation is not obvious. It seems to be as sturdy in that position despite the awkward way it leans due to the tapered design, so misuse is awkward and prone to tipping, but not impossible. Its compact design makes it very simple to stash, which is perfect for our pantry.Well-designed, easy to assemble, and convenient to use are all wins in my book. Possible sideways misuse (mainly, in our case, by the too-smart-for-his-own-good four-year-old) merits consideration regarding whether it's right for your family, hence the 4-star review instead of 5.

Not a child, just a short lady—this step stool works great for helping me reach the higher shelves and cabinets in my kitchen. Wanted something that isn't an eyesore to leave out and this fits the bill. I'm 110lbs and this step stool is plenty sturdy for my weight. Product details say the maximum load is 154 lbs. The handle makes moving it around easy.

I got this item for my grandson to stand on while he washes his hands, he is only 4 but very independent. I cannot be more pleased with this step stool. Appearance-wise, the wooden color is very attractive and looks great. The finish of the step stool is second to none, it has been hand-finished and there are no unwelcome sharp or rough edges/surfaces. Self-assembly is required but there are only eight screws to put in place and the holes are pre-drilled and the step stool comes with a great hex key, complete with handle, to tighten the screws. The instructions are very well prepared and very easy to follow. Assembly take about five minutes and the finished job looks fabulous. I am so impressed with everything about the step stool, it comes with spare fittings, great instructions, the only tool needed for assembly, and non-slip sticky pads that go on every surface that makes contact with the floor. I cannot think of anything about this step stool that could be improved, I am delighted with it.

My granddaughters have to share a stool when it comes to brushing hair, teeth, etc. This stool will end that bit of strife every morning. My 3 year old granddaughter loves it. It is very easy to assemble, well made and sturdy. The only wish I would have is that the logo not placed so visibly. It is a distraction from the beauty of the stool itself; however, I understand the reasoning behind it. This is a great find and I'm very happy with it!

This is a very well designed stool that is a nice height for the kitchen. The ease of assembly was very high. While I'm overall satisfied with the product, the price point gives me head hesitation. There are other options out there that are of good quality for a lot less money.
