Making one inch hexies . Fold 2.5 inch strip of fabric in half. Line up on 2.5†line, cut on the right side of the triangle. Slide triangle along cutting the same angle. You can cut the opposite side of the triangle at the same time, but I can’t cut on the left side of a ruler. So after cutting all the same angles, I flip the fabric so I can cut the same angle again from the right side of the triangle. A small triangle is all that’s is leftover. Ready to glue baste with only a small cutting board. No scissors or tiny pieces floating around. The backs are very neat. Lefties, reverse this process. This process makes perfect wool hexagons.

I wanted to make this quilt so I had to order the template to make sure I got my points correct. At first when I started it, because I’m not a seasoned quilter I was not exactly sure how to use. Finally I figured it out did not take me that long.it after this is the quilt I came up with and I totally love it. I do plan on making another one for my other daughter. This size came out to be a small lap quilt ! next time I will make it larger. I’m totally pleased with this little template and would highly recommend it.

I've used the tri recs before & I'm looking forward to using my own soon! Quilting is such a joy & having awesome, accurate tools to make it easier is great! Every tool is worth its weight in gold!

Worked as expected and made making my quilt of sailboats much easier. Would have been better if the templates did not slide on the fabric. It was somewhat difficult to keep them from moving as my rotary cutter was at the narrower ends. I'll be looking for some kind of "anti-slide" goop to put on the backside before using these again. (Years ago we glued sandpaper to our templates. Might use some double-sided tape now.)
