Theses parts were originally nylon and after installing theses i know why, theses make a horrible sound when they are in use, I wouldn't recommend using them period!

I don’t know why BMW used one brass gear and one plastic gear in my 645CSI but they did and of course, the plastic one failed. I bought this kit containing two gears but found the main gear didn’t fit (the one that replaces the brass gear) so I left the BMW original in and used the second one (the brass one to replace the plastic gear) and everything works perfectly. The only perceivable difference is this setup is quite a bit noisier than the original and I think that’s why BMW used a plastic gear; to make it quieter. For the 20 or so seconds it takes to put the top up or down, the noise doesn’t bother me at all and I like that all the gearing now is metal as it should be more reliable.

This does not fit, the sline too big the original is fine. Do not buy!!!

This does not work. The short shaft with machined male ends does not fit into the two cables in the car. They should slide right in the female end of black cable, like old one did. This part is too big by a slight bit. I tried pushing them in with pliers figuring maybe it would just be a tight fit. But it does not work. Do not buy this.

The output gear on this will not fit in the top latch connectors in the car. Half of this kit is useless do not order if you need the output drive gear. Main gear appears to be ok but I question it with how far off the other is.

Splines on gear that turns cables are to thick and cable will not fit over them.

The splines where the cables attach are different from orignal BMW and WILL NOT FIT... The number of splines on shaft is less than original. This replcement part is wrong and will not work on any e36 or e46 as decribed in the listing...
