I prefer small batch reeds, but these work alright.

I'm' getting back into bassoon after not playing since high school, so I'm not exactly a professional bassoonist with a highly discerning embouchure. That said, I can't tell much of a quality difference between this reed and the three or four others I've bought at the local music store for $10-$20. It's held up well without making any adjustments to it (I don't have reed-making tools nor a teacher) for several weeks. No complaints here!

It is not really possible for me to assess this product as I am not a bassoonist. Many years ago I was given an Indian double reed instrument called a shehnai. A wonderful and transcendent sounding ancestor of the oboe. The reed that came with it dried and cracked and became unusable. I couldn't think of anywhere to find such a specific and locally rare item. I saw this bassoon reed and thought it worthwhile to give it a shot.I watched a bassoonist instructional video describing how to allow the reed to soak in room temperature water for 5 minutes then dry for 5 minutes. I improvised a sort of gasket to allow the reed to fit snugly over the intake pipe on the mouthpiece. So far, I have been unable to produce any sounds with it.I am in no position to determine if the problem is completely me and my unfamiliarity with reed instruments, the reed itself or some combination of these.I will say, I noticed that is much more visually appealing than I would have suspected. There appears to be some actual hand craftsmanship at work here. Even if it is fully mechanized production, it looks nice and the packaging is consistent with what I would expect a quality product to provide.Hopefully, an actual bassoonist can give greater insight and more relevant information.

I allowed the reed to soak for 10-15 min, and then gave it a try. It’s reamed wide enough an fit easily on the bocal, including a wider than usual bocal. It crowed and produced a nice sound right away. The reed is a little longer than my other reeds by 2 mm or so, but the tip width is about the same (15 mm). Normally I like a clipped tip on the corners and this is a straight cut. Looking at the tip, the sides are supported evenly giving you a symmetrical shape. For a less experienced bassoonist, the good part is you can soak and play right away. Discuss with your teacher if it needs any additional scraping. You might want to clear polish the thread, but that’s it. Totally works!
