This is my best find! Its awesome and worth every penny. After 3yrs, the first one took a beating from weather and my negligence, I finally broke the straps. I abused the heck out of this product. It was in constant use and used all year round. I kept it up on my car and my suv. That does allow rain to get into the car so obviously dont do that. This product is better than any ones Ive ever seen and I bought another one and Ill buy more as long as they are available. Ive never had a problem. Good quality. So easy to use. Works awesome.

I use this on this soft rack on the roof of my truck to haul my canoe. I had been trying to figure out a good system to haul the canoe that is just too long to safely haul in the truck bed on longer trips, and this roof rack seems to do the trick in conjunction with a Reese Canoe Loader. I wish the roof rack pads were a little wider to fit the canoe width better, but they work fine for my specific use. The rack is really easy to put on and off, which is why I decided to give this product a try. I like that it has a lot of places where you can attach the straps to keep the canoe fastened really securely. It comes with some straps that work great. One drawback is that the main rack strap that goes inside the vehicle can wick moisture into the vehicle interior if it is raining when the rack is installed. If anyone has a hack to help prevent this or minimize the affects of the moisture getting in, that would be great to hear. Overall, I'm really happy with this product.

Seeing a Yakima roof mount on another Hyundai Elantra similar to mine, (2011-2016?) and seeking the highest-reviewed Yakima mount system on Amazon, I chose this one.Extremely easy and safe installation and removal. The included straps are not great. I've opted to use the included straps in combination with a ratcheting strap or two ratcheting straps in lieu of the included ones.I have hauled a 10 ft long 44 lb kayak as well as an 8 ft long 34 lb kayak on top of my Elantra with this without issue. The padding within the product sags down a lot when you really secure the load, which was a bit unnerving for me.. but tightening and positioning my kayak thoughtfully has gotten me only good results so far.. I am slightly considering an extra foam support at a later time.

I was looking for soft racks so I didn't have to keep putting my surfboard in the car. These fit perfectly on my 06 Lexus GS30. Easy to install and very well made. Yakima is a reliable brand and that's the main reason I bought this despite seeing similar racks on Amazon for half their price. Pros: Very well made, comes with straps and rope, the strap buckle is rubber coated so it won't scratch your vehicle, there's also a YouTube video by Yakima demonstrating how to tie down a kayak. Visually, they look cool with the Yakima logo in red on both the front/back of each rack. Cons: The straps secure inside the vehicle and since I have a low roof, they touch the top of my head. I looped them through the roof grab handles and moved it back slightly and that helped a lot. The straps to secure my surfboard are way too long so I wound up buying a pair of 32" bungee cords for under $5 at the hardware store and that solved the problem. The ends of the soft racks lifted slightly when securing the board and torquing the straps. However, that would be expected for this type of racks. Over all I'm very happy with how it looks and how it performs.

Great product. Well-designed. Easy to use. It is fun carrying around a 28’ extension ladder or tandem kayak on my Camry. Yakima backs their quality - I had one HD strap start to lose stitching; they sent a replacement right away. Inspect every use. The HD straps slip one way, so be sure you know which direction and install properly. Ropes fray easily and are not very long. But I don’t need them for a short trip with my 13.5’ kayak. Super easy to install and remove. I have not tested against the straps carrying water. It should only be a problem if you are driving in the rain since it is so easy to remove and install.

I wanted something that was soft that didn't scratch my kayak and was easy to put on.This checked all the boxes. Comes with everything you need to mount the kayak on the roof.Glad I choose this one over the other generic soft roof racks.

My little car has no roof rails at all. This system is perfect for transporting my kayak. It’s uncomplicated to use, comes on and off quickly and holds my kayak securely. No question. I love that it was relatively inexpensive as well.

Like many reviewers pointed out, this is an easy to use and versatile roof top solution that is relatively inexpensive on top. I bought it to strap my wind surf board onto my "naked" roof.Unfortunately, upon first use, the seam that holds the buckle to the HD strap broke (on the front side strap), the board lifted up, tore the entire back EasyTop cushion off, and my board crashed on the road behind my car, at 80 km/h (50 mph).My surf board is not extraordinarily long at 265 cm (104 in) and stuck out about 40 cm (16 in) over my wind shield (with its fin end). I had the EasyTop cushions about 130 cm (51 in) apart, double the recommended minimum. The load was stable upon testing. However, I was suspicious of the one seam only stitching at the strap's buckle, as other brand's heavy duty straps come with double stitching and crisscross stiches in between.Amazon's seller sent a replacement immediately upon me sending photos of the broken strap seam. I also contacted Yakima support to alert them. They offered a replacement, too, and apparently sent the incident to their product team for review.Yakima also responded that the use of the front and rear tie-down ropes is very important. While I understand that these ropes definitely will add safety, the installation sheet specifies their use for long loads, but w/o defining what constitutes "long".I will do both with my replacement EasyTop, I will use the front/rear tie downs AND use a different brand of HD straps, one with double stitching. Safe driving everyone - I hope this review helps! All involved, Amazon, its seller and Yakima handled this incident timely and professional. I just repaired my board this evening.
