I had a new Onkyo 6 disc. Don't buy mine skipped on songs and was very annoying. Pay a little extra and get the Yamaha the sound is fantastic and the songs Don't skip.

The one drawback is an over done remote and too large because of toomany unused buttons for this user. Arrived on time and well packed and offers a good looking player that offers a very smooth and quiet use of functions. Plays 5 and does automatic shut down after one revolution. Overall, am happy with it.

The draw never opened making the machine useless from the start. Called customer service and had a quick response. They told me to return it since I received a defective CD changer. This is expensive machine. I had to open the outer Amazon carton, then open the CD changer box, remove the packaging and read the instructions, pull out the CD changer and place it in a shelf above my receiver. Plug the cord into the back of the receiver. Then plug in the included RCA cable into the CD changer and receiver. I was getting excited,I turned on the power on the receiver, then turned on the power on the new beautiful CD changer, the new machine lit up and I was ready to place in my CDs. So I looked over the instructions again pressed the button that was lit up. No responce so I checked instructions again and found another way to open the draw. I pressed the button multiple times as instructed. No responce, draw wouldn’t open, what a disappointment. Then I had to dismantle the whole thing, repackage the whole thing, and cart off to UPS. I wondered how this machine made it past quality control.

It is almost impossible to find these types of players anymore. They were very popular over 20-30 years ago. Most people have gone to streaming for convenience, but the best quality is still compact discs. Plus, many of us have hundreds of discs and they are very inexpensive if shopping on eBay, for example.This machine sounds good. I also have an Onkyo 6-disc player, that I bought last year. I bought this one from Yamaha in case they stop making multi disc players. Is this better than the Onkyo? It must be, it costs more!

Absolutely perfect! Worked right out of the box! Sound quality is outstanding, and the CD changer works efficiently. I am totally thrilled with my purchase!
