I have been crocheting and knitting for half my life, and I'm not sure how I never came across something like this before. It's such a great design... and works beautifully! I haven't been able to put enough yarn on it to test it's hold... I've filled it with as much as I could smoosh onto the spinning arm, and the magnet held it without a problem.Before this, I would always use my winder to make yarn cakes instead of fighting with a tangled skein in the middle of a project, but pulling the yarn from the inside of the cake would still tangle every once in a while anyway, and pulling from the outside of the cake would cause me to have to stop every so often to pull more yarn free, or fight the tension with it rolling around inside a bowl. This quite literally eliminates all of that. It spins with the slightest pull, you won't have any unwanted tension messing up your project.The magnet holds well- I haven't had it fall off accidentally yet. The only thing I would say is to be aware of how quickly this will spin if you move your project around or are crocheting very quickly. It doesn't bother me when a little extra comes unwound, but I know it may for some.The holder comes in 3 pieces- the base, the arm, and the "spinning arm" that holds the yarn. Not only did it come with the scerws to put the arm and base together, it also included a small screwdriver- everything you need to put it together as soon as you open the box! It only took a minute before I was able to sit down and use it.Overall, I'm very happy and thrilled to have this. I'd recommend it to anyone that knits or crochets- with it being the cost of only a few skeins of yarn, it's definitely worth the price.

This review is for the SPEENSUN Magnetic Yarn Holder.If you're a seasoned crocheter, or if you're someone like me who has recently started but fallen in love with the hobby, then you most likely already know that the best way to ensure that your crocheted projects look amazing is by controlling your tension.There are different ways to wrap the yarn around your fingers when crocheting. Sometimes you have to adjust your grip to accommodate different yarn weights (i.e. thicknesses) and textures/styles, because not all yarns glide over your fingers in the same way.One thing that you need to do with ALL yarns is to allow the yarn to unravel as you continue with your work. Some yarns are more difficult than others to unravel.The reason that I really wanted this magnetic yarn holder is because I've found that I constantly have to tug at the yarn ball/skein in order to loosen it and to make it easy for me to pull it with tension through my fingers. When the yarn is just sitting next to you or on the floor, you have to keep tugging at it to unravel it.This magnetic yarn holder from Speensun allows for the yarn to spin on its own without you constantly needing to tug at it. It helps crocheters like me maintain consistent tension, which then allows my projects to look better.The quality of this yarn holder is better than expected. The wood is smooth and comfortable to touch, and it's very easy to load the yarn on the vertical pin and then to attach the pin to the magnet.I think this is a great investment for serious crocheters and knitters.

The Yarn Holder for Crocheting, Crochet Yarn Holder, Upgrade Larger Size is a ample size for most projects. The yarn holder is simple to assemble with the provided screw driver and screws(even an extra screw, nice touch). The yarn holders shaft is a nice smooth finish so it will not snag any yarn being put on or spooled off. The curve of the arm of the yarn holder where it meets the base can be a bit close for some larger balls of yarn causing the yarn to bounce when being spun off(just raise the yarn up a bit on the shaft should eliminate this).I would order again.

I am so glad I finally picked one of these yarn holders up. This nifty tool came very nicely packaged with all pieces protected in styrofoam molded to the pieces shape holding them in nice and snug. The directions couldn’t be easier and, to be honest, I did not even review them before putting it together. The holder is constructed of bamboo which is a sturdy, economical option that I appreciate, and every piece is very well made - smooth and free of any flaws. The overall look is pleasing to the eye with the curved shape to the arm and the great finish to the bamboo. The magnet strength was always my concern and, this one is strong and performs well above my expectations. For anyone who knits or crochets, this is a fantastic tool and at a great value. Would recommend for yourself or as a gift!

This yarn holder is so cool. Well I mean for a yarn holder.It arrives neatly packaged, and when you open it, you see it was thoughtfully packaged also. Each piece securely cushioned in its own place and clear and easy assembly instructions.The yarn is put onto the magnetic pole and then it spins freely on the pedestal. Don’t go yanking it though, it will spin so fast it will wrap up the other way and make a huge knotted mess. Just trust me on this one.It keeps my yarn off the floor and from knotting up. It’s nicely made and is cute to watch it twirl and swing while you crochet. I do recommend.

This was extremely easy to put together, straight out of the box, it was pretty self explanatory. It is the perfect size to fit larger rolls of yarn as well as the smaller rolls. I’m not so sure on the quality though. I was able to use this for about 4 hours and then it was knocked off of my nightstand and immediately broke. I do wish it had some kind of gripping effect on the bottom so that it doesn’t move around so much because the yarn can get caught even with having this. I’m not really sure this is worth the $22.95 you would pay for it but it is nice having a yarn holder.
