I've used this several times since I purchased it. It's a little wobbly, but all the clamps and tighteners hold fast. Most of these yarn winders are very expensive. My local yarn shop has a high quality one but I needed one for emergency yarn winding at home. This is does a very good job! My yarn does not get caught. Easy to maneuver the yarn. I would recommend a cake winder as well.

I was on the hunt for an inexpensive swift with metal or plastic versus the wood swift I have used for many years to test out an electric ball winder. While this swift feels cheap and I was leery it would have mechanical issues, it performed adequately as far as keeping the yarn in place and rotating freely. Worth noting it's clamp permits vertical or horizontal use - ordinarily I use my standard swift horizontally oriented, but in this case it was very helpful to be able to orient it vertically (like a Ferris wheel) due to the orientation and placement of my ball winder.

I like that this product is easily adjustable, works as described, and at a fairly low cost. It has made caking skeins of yarn so much easier. I also like it's collapsabilty. It is easily stored. Good product.

An inexpensive swift that gets the job done! Opens & closes with no problems, spins smoothly, and is compact when storing it away.

It’s a decent product for the price, but it always seemed to wobble. It was never as secure as I was hoping it would be.

Wir kennen es alle aus unserer Kindheit: wir bekamen einen Strang Wolle über die Unterarme gelegt, und Oma oder Mutti haben dann die Wolle ab- und zu Knäueln aufgewickelt. Diese Funktion unserer Arme übernimmt jetzt diese Schirmhaspel. Schnell aufgebaut, funtioniert super, und nach Gebrauch ist sie auch schnell und platzsparend wieder verstaut. Sie ist zwar nicht aus Holz, dafür kostet sie aber auch deutlich weniger - und ist trotzdem jeden Cent wert. Kaufempfehlung.

I was happy to use this swift but it is not extremely sturdy. It performs well if care taken not to be too vigorous when winding. Good value though.
