I almost didn’t get this. There was a delay in shipping. I’m glad I waited. As soon as I received this, I did 10 skeins of yarn and not one issue! I wish I would have had this long ago.Easy to put together. Easy to use. Lightweight and quiet.Highly recommend this product.

Like some others, I waited till this yarn winder went on sale to try it out. I've been meaning to buy a yarn winder for a while and when I saw this one reviewed by a crochet artist I follow, I thought this would be perfect. This yarn winder takes like 2-3 mins maybe to put together. It is super simple and straightforward to assemble and comes with a screwdriver and extra screw. As well as easy instructions.I have both Acrylic and Plush yarns and it works great for both. I say mostly hands off because sometimes the tension gets loose as the yarn skein gets smaller and it will start to wrap around the base and I have to unwind it a little bit. That is most likely a user issue, since I walk away from it to multitask sometimes. All around I am pretty happy with this product and recommend it if you are interested. It really is nice not having to wind yarn by hand lol.
Very cute and good quality

I've used a goodwill, semi broken spinner for years and I saw one tiktok of this E-spinner and I had to get it (it never occurred to me that one existed... Of course I spun all my new yarn right before buying this). She is amazing. You can do a full, normal skein of acrylic on this with plenty of space left. I haven't tried it on any of my wool blends, all I have right now are minis and chances are those won't cake up very well (they don't normally either). My only grip with this is the tension. The piece for tension is so loose, so the cakes end up being so big, fluffy, and they kind of unravel in weird spots. My suggesting is just getting a rubber band to increase pressure on the feeding yarn. You don't want too much or the machine thinks it's a jam. I found the perfect balance where my cakes come out tight and I don't really have to babysit the feeding yarn. I love that when a knot shows up, the machine recognizes there's too much tension and stops entirely so the motor doesn't burn. Most important, it's very pretty and purple and it's fun to look at :)

I have a large yarn collection and was making my arm fall off cranking cakes by hand for better storage. I figured electric winder would solve my issues, which this, well, partly has. I second other reviewer who mentioned that the winder works quite well with grippy yarns (think of cotton or wool) but quickly turns into a nightmare with acrylic. When the ball gets too large and you make the mistake of not keeping an eye on it to stop it the moment the yarn slips, you'll end up with a mess on the bobbin. I'm trying to figure out the best way to do the acrylics, but I've had slim luck so far.The machine itself is pretty quiet. Speedy-ish but not as quick as hand cranking if you're a speed demon like me. I understand that the machine stops itself automatically after about 4 minutes (annoying but whatever) and also stops if tension gets even a bit too high. I like my cakes pretty firm, so this is a huge downside for me. Also, frogging a project with this or using the winder on a fresh skein etc without having to pull the yarn loose by hand is kind of a no go.It kinda gets the job done, just at the cost of your time, effort and mental health.Update: I first gave it 3 stars. Bumped it down after it's taken me a hour and over six (!) Times stopping the machine to unravel the mess it made. Please pay for my therapy lol

(*Cracks Knuckles*) I’ve been waiting to type this review until I’d put this machine through changes, and well we’re 15 skeins in and counting. I’m not sure why companies have decided that consumers only need a cord to power their devices, but this is another that annoyingly comes without a charging block. That aside, this machine works reasonably okay, is easy to store, and has saved me time in winding. It’s easy to assemble and secure to your table for use. There are settings to adjust how fast it winds the yarn. I have found that the machine needs to be on a pretty high setting if you want a skein that doesn’t eventually fall apart after winding (for worsted weight or heavier yarns). I’m not sure about its durability - as others have noted. This thing clicks and whirs in a way that makes you think it’s going to quit at any second. It has sufficiently met my needs, but it’ll be interesting to see how long it actually lasts. Finally, I don’t love that it slightly shaves the yarn because it needs to be passed through a couple of grooves and springs to secure it to the device. It’s a great start but needs some improvements to be a device that I recommend to all of my fellow knitters. For now, I’ll keep it because I hate hand winding yarn and have a number of skeins that need to be made into cakes. Once it dies, I’ll search for a different device.

First, I’d like to start off by saying I do not leave reviews often. - I either like an item or I return it if it does not seem to work as described or to my liking. That being said, I am 100% leaving a review for this item because I LOVE it so much!!! I have no idea why I waited so long to make the decision to purchase this item. Works way better than hand winding yarn into a ball or even using the manual winder I have.Set up was quick and easy. Directions simple. I like that I can control the speed in which it spins and it can create a decent sized cake of yarn. Spring that helps hold yarn could be slightly tighter for more tension, but I’d still by this product again despite that (in fact I might buy another for my art classroom (I teach)).

Used it only once for now and with a rustic yarn and I'm really satisfied with the results. It seems like it took a little longer than with a manuel yarn winder but the result is much better.

I love this winder! I’ve tried others but this is my first electric one, but it is well worth the money! The only criticism is a spring guide on the side, it is very loose so the yarn jumps out, but it sill a cracking machine!

Loved that it’s electric & very easy to assemble however cannot use in my country without purchasing a plug adapter to power it. Not mentioned on listing that the power plug may not be compatible with all countries ie Australia. Cannot use to see how it performs until I buy an adapter to convert it.
