This yarn winder is perfect. I wanted something affordable that would do the job of winding up all my scraps. Mostly, so I could use a yarn bowl and store my yarn more easily. This product did that, and it did it fast! Wasn't much noise either. It was very easy to assemble and it fit well onto my dining table. The only thing I would change, it the yarn guide. I wish it was a TINY bit smaller in width. The one it comes with is fine, but it does leave quite a gap in the middle of the cakes. If it was maybe 3/4 of its original size, that would be perfect. Otherwise, great product!

This is a very handy and well made yarn winder. It doesn’t take up much space, very easy and quick set up, and the yarn winds well. I chose this over an electric one for cost reasons. Will be using this on the regular!

It works well once you learn how to use it. You would think it would be a no brainer but it actually takes a few times to not screw it up. I had issues with it slipping off the top while winding. I just make multiple smaller balls. For the most part I am pleased with it, but in hindsight I would spend the extra for an electric version.

This yarn winder works very smoothly and makes nice balls of yarn. I did hold the yarn to give some tension but had no issues with operation at all. It's very quiet, attaches tightly to the table and is very easy to use. You can go as fast or as slow as you want with the hand crank. On my first use I had about a half of a one pound skein of yarn and had to make two balls with it. This will make yarn storage so much nicer.

Easy to put together and use. Have wound regular sized skeins of yarn and it works perfectly fine as long as you are paying attention to knots in your yarn. That would be the case for any yard winder. This one is cheaper than the other listings I’ve seen and it works great. Save a couple bucks and get this one.

I got this to help organize and use some of my yarn. It is much smaller than I thought it would be, but in a good way! It was easy to put together and easy to take apart to put away until I'm ready to use it again. It seems to be pretty sturdy as well and is actually really quiet compared to a wooden one that I have used previously. It has already saved me a lot of time winding several balls of yarn. the clamp fit well on the side of my desk but will not fit on the thick edge of my antique kitchen table. I was also able to hold it in one hand and wind it with the other, but I couldn't control the yarn tension too well when I tried this. I don't think it would wind super large amounts of yarn, but I have had no issues with the regular sized skeins I have used so far.
