Tips and Cautions
If the pen nib's temperature slightly drops due to contact with the wood, simply lift the pen nib away from the wood for a while, then you may continue your drawing once the nib's temperature recovers.
Try different temperature settings with different pen tips on scrap wood, figuring out how to create your desired strokes.
How to control the intensity and thickness of the burn marks?
1. Adjust pyrography pen's temperature. (The higher, the darker, the lower, the lighter)
2. Slow down or speed up the pyrography pen movement.
3. Try light-colored strokes before burning the same area repeatedly to darken the shade.

This is a great unit and a significant improvement over the cheap craft store models. The best feature is the block that holds the tool in place, no more hot tools rolling around!

This wood burning kit works great, and I’ve had no issues with it so far. I got it specifically to create patterns on wood, which I then paint over, and it does the job really well.The temperature control is easy to adjust, which is great for different techniques like engraving, shading, or stippling. I've dabbled in wood burning many times throughout my life. I found an old wood burning kit from the 60's in my grandfather's attic when I was a kid in the 80's-90's and I had a ton of fun playing with it. In my late 20's I had a renewed interest after finding a similar wood burner at a craft fair. I've used it several times over the last 20 years, but would call myself an amateur at best. I was very excited to see this new style of wood burner come up for review.This burner is SO MUCH BETTER than the classic chisel tipped burner. Just to start, there are many different styles of tips so you can do different types of shading and effects. I've gone down many YouTube tutorial rabbit holes, there's so much more that this can do than the classic burner. The temperature on this can be adjusted and the dial is easy to turn/control. The tips are easy to change when cooled and I have been loving the experience of using this versus the old chisel tip.

Very nice for detailing . The pen felt good , and easily controllable. Easy to adjust the heat. A great value for this item .
