I admit I was skeptical but you have to heat up slow and it takes a while but it works great for designs . I use a torch to make flags but I wanted precise burns for this project. I heated with a heat gun on low, if on high it does scorch the wood. Definitely have to have patience!

This marker works just as described. It's fun to use for crafts.

Used to make wood burnt signs. Perfect for what we made. There's a fine line between oversaturated and just right for when you go to burn the wood. Helpful tip: make sure the wood you use is dry enough so when you heat up the wood it doesn't draw the moisture out and ruin your project.

Used this to make Christmas gifts which turned out great. Kinda bummed it doesn't actually burn into the wood. It kinda burns on top. (Doesn't indent, if that makes sense)But the gifts turned out cute, so I'll probably still keep using them.

Purchased one a while back. Used it. It worked great. Recently, I started another project. Did the first part with the original marker I had, and ordered another to finish it.I treated the second marker the same as the first, shook it before use and prepared the nib by pressing down. I noticed the second marker was pink when applied. It had been a while since I bought the first so, I thought that’s cool, they gave it color so you can see where you are applying it better.Applied the new marker to the remainder of the project. Then, I started heating with the same heat gun used previously. It. Wouldn’t. Change. The only way to get it to even start changing was to apply so much heat that the rest of the wood scorched.I attached pictures. Alpha - Hotel is the first marker, everything else is the second. In the close up picture the rectangle was done with the second marker and wouldn’t change. So I applied some of the first to the middle, heated it and the part I had put it on changed. You can see the pink around the edge that didn’t change.Pretty bummed that my entire project is now ruined.

As described. Draw your picture, shot it with a heat gun and it burns your picture into the wood. I imagine it would work with a torch also. I was amazed!

I read some mixed reviews about this item before purchasing. Some folks complained about the marker dripping. You need to prime the tip, but don't over do it. Just do a bit at a time until the tip becomes saturated. Slow and steady wins the race. In regard to the bleed over on the things you are burning, that has to do with the "wicking" of the product you are applying too. Soft woods are really going to soak up the product and "bleed" outside your area. Just use a light coating at first and then go over it again if you want a darker scorch. If you rush it, you'll ruin it. The pen/product works fine, the operator needs to be careful.
Perfect, soft and awesome to sleep on
